Probably couldn’t even define “woke”.

AW was my favorite announcement post-EG but even I could tell it’s deader than a Blade movie. Damn shame but it’s whatever at this point.

I don’t think I care much to see a 60+ year old Don Cheadle as WM anymore.

Not surprised for Agatha

I will say this about friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Love the animation. Different universe i get it. I look forward to this series. Definitely has potential

The first episode did everything I thought yt folks meant when they said "woke". Openly gay character? Check. Touch on racism? Check. (Wanted)Interracial relationship? Check. Character race swap? Got it. Cast of all races? They on that. Its almost like they did that on purpose. I appreciate the origin switch up for the sake of pace.

All businesses do what will make them money, from a kid on the corner selling lemonade, to Tesla. The position 'They only had gay characters & a racially diverse cast to make money' is reductive; every business exists to make money.
The moves that they make in their quest for the top dollar is what I look at.
They could've made this cast as white as
FRIENDS, and they would definitely get all of the dollars from the Trump loving, 'Musk is autistic!', #GunsBibleBeer & #LiveLaughLove crowds.
They chose this path, and the social implications of that move cannot be ignored, capitalism aside.

tl,dr: social effects > capitalism
