What are reasons one would deactivate their Facebook account?

Additionally, Facebook is better handled (at least currently) when compared
to MySpace. The latter strikes me as being to sleazy and fishy...

I don't even notice the ads on Facebook to be honest.

is it possible that someone can change their settings so that no one can search you on facebook? like if someone is looking for you, you're picture willnot even appear on the search listings?

yes, I did that (when I had my Facebook account)
