As someone who is creepin up on 30 y/o originally from Florida,
I kind of remember what fashion was like in the late 90's jiggy era
But I don't remember what was going on around the time of 9/11, besides jerseys.
Once dipset hit, I was in high school and that style of dress took off, at least in the circle of people I hung around. Florida is full of ppl with ties to NY who think they are hip and unique compared to FL culture. Thye borught that whole element to FL, especially with the uptowns laced to make the bows look like big *** bunny ears. You guys know what im talking about lol. Then once Dem Franchise Boys hit down south then all the natives started with the tall tees and mixing it with Girbauds. Basically it was the "late" souther version of the dipset style. then fashion went to the jim jones "shotta" style.
