just curious, how come you carry your birth certificate around with you?  i honestly dont know where mine is, and cant remember the last time I actually needed it for something.  I'm hoping that my mother has it stashed away in a safe or something at her place.


also why not leave the car registration/insurance in the car?  i've ran out of the house many times without my wallet before, even been pulled over without my wallet (and drivers license).  Cop just gave me a "fix it" ticket and made me show proof of my license to get it cleared up.  I have to imagine that if I could not provide license/registration when pulled over (even if it was current) they would have towed my car.  Seems like a big risk to take.

    

just a habit, and my birth certificate is the size of my license, so I just keep it in there.......the big one is at home, didn't even know I had a big one until someone asked about it working at the MVA.......

car registration and insurance stays in my wallet for the same reason, just a habit, I don't want to leave it in my car, because I'm very bad at throwing %#%@ away, like papers...and some of those papers that i tend to ball up and throw away might be important, it has happened more than once.

I wouldn't carry my SS Card with me.. 

If my wallet gets taken, there goes my identity.

I just remember my SS Number by heart.
