What's the worst financial decision you've ever made?

Bought a new Hyundai back in 2012. Those joints depreciate like crazy compared to other cars.

-Blowing through 14k at the casino and clubbing (21-22) [emoji]128532[/emoji]
-owe the plug 10k cause of some shady former friends
-having things goes into collection 2k all together in my early 20s
-My current car I have now with an high interest rate. Can't wait to finish payin it off by the end of the year.

As of today (25) way better than I was in (14") picked up a few booked hit up the personal financial thread on here and got to work. [emoji]128526[/emoji] Man old habit dies hard tho, I'm an impulsive shopper. But everything calm down greatly cause my goal now is to get a rental property. Materialistic things doesn't have the same [emoji]128525[/emoji] Feeling anymore.

Yeah them old habits :lol. But usually being aware helps tremendously.

But to whoever asked - yeah it was a used car lot.

Student loans on a tech school. My Dad and H.S. counselor warned me and I didn't listen. Such a waste of money on a school that no longer exists. :{

That hits so close to home :x

Financing the Sony Bravia XBR 55X900B. That TV gave me so much hell from the minute it arrive, to point when I wanted to get rid of the damn thing >:

Not that Stay Lurk in needed to explain himself (cause I was judging after that first post lol) but that explanation post helped things make sense. Tough situation.

Not be confident enough to go to interviews while in college. Not being confident/prideful enough to network and ask friend with connections for the hook up on jobs.

All that in past though. But I could have been further in my career by now if my introvert ways didn't get in the way of my hustler ambitions.

This was (still kinda is) me.

Worst financial decision: living in expensive *** DC :lol

Student loans for sure. Especially that 1st year at a 'private university' (that weakass scholarship they gave me barely put a dent in the total cost smh lol).

So many thousands of dollars wasted over the past 6 years.

I should be rid of them by the end of this year, but still... :{

damn lol.

no kia jokes yet?

for me, prolly buying gold stocks in 2008 when some NTer was saying it was gonna blow like crazy.
I bought maybe 3 diff stocks, 2 did good, JAG (stock symbol changed cause they not even on the main floor anymore) lost me prolly $5gs smh

You was drinkin' that DeyknowYayo kool-aid, huh? :lol

I remember that thread, and the heated back and forth between him and Ben Baller about how much gold was going to rise.

Hey man, in 2008, if you were invested in the market, you got finessed one way or the other. T'was all part of the game, yo. :lol

-Student loans. BS is useless. Pretty much a GED now.

-Quit a job without having another job because I was on the brink of losing my mind. Spend my $15K in savings on bills and such

Running a balance on my cc while I could have paid it off, bad move. Then life hit you with legal fees, car trouble, medical bills, unemployment at the same damn time compounding your debt.

ALWAYS

You can't live scared but you CAN"T anticipate everything always being the same and plan your current decisions around that.

Blowing my law suit money in College :{
When I was 13, I spent three weekends mowing lawns for $50 bucks. I went and blew the money on a $50 Charizard card. I instantly regretted it :{

I used to eat a whole lot of takeout. That's such a bad financial decision everyday. I see people here always going out to lunch every single day. That adds up quickly!

For me it's lack of work ethic.

I'm 10yrs behind the curve because I didn't want to earn the lifestyle I want to lead.

I'm 31 and only with the last 12-18 months can I say I've been managing my finances relatively well.

The interest on my truck note kinda pisses me off when I think about it. I got some bad advice on that when I should've been a little more patient and stuck with my gut....the compliments I get on it kinda eases the pain but for only like 3 mins then I be pissed again :{

Buying a used WRX with mods at 19...

dumbest thing ive done to date. Biggest money pit..

i liked clothes and sneakers too much to be dumping all my money into the car at that age..

im glad they crashed into it while it was parked and it ended up being totaled..

i was ready to get ride of the car..

i do miss driving it tho :lol

Shoes as well for. All those Jordans I bought. I did love them at the time, but man. I would rather have that money now being saved up.
