Whats wrong with ESPN?

ESPN's started going the way of a tabloid sports channel, by exploiting Tim Tebow and Kapernick.

and Bruce Jenner getting that ESPY was ridiculous. He had just killed someone a few months prior, but I guess that made for a more attention grabbing story than a girl battling brain cancer and still wanting to play basketball and live out her dream.

You talking about the college player, Lauren Hill? Her story was sad as hell and thought it should've been a bigger story.

Could've been a little huge-r. Maybe she would've won the award instead of jenner.

The Lauren Hill story was huge. Don't know what you guy are talking about.

once the sports leagues got their own networks it was a wrap. nbatv, nfl network, mlb net, etc.

too much "hot takes" but then again, they had to fill hours of television with programming

I still can't get over ESPN giving a courage award to a dude that's simply a cross-dressing fraud vs other people who have legitimate stories and obstacles.

ESPN sucks.

I called my time watching it a phase.

Pardon the Interruption especially fell off. Wilbon has become unbearable.

The fact that they blew it up and straight up advertised the show as essentially Jenner gets a big award night didn't help

I know most in the crowd that night were wondering why he got the award. I don't think he even got his equipment cut off and do the full transformation.

Can any of you name a previous Courage Award winner?

Seems like there was a lot of outrage for an award nobody ever cared about.

Yall didn't care about the award as much as you were just anti Jenner.

I don't rock with dude either btw.

There was a war veteran that had both his legs blown off that was a nominee, and Devon Still (the guy that used to play for the team you have in your avy) had a great story about his daughter dealing with cancer that could have easily been in that category. Nobody would have had a problem if Bruce was actually transgender and legit facing discrimination, instead of just being a man who likes to wear dresses. There's real transgender people that think Bruce is an embarrassment to them, especially after his comments being against gay marriage.

How did that award change anything?

Still and his daughter go much throughout that year, how is a 5 min speach and a plastic statue change that?

I agree with what your saying but being mad at a worthless reward nobody cares about?

Just seems odd to me.

Wouldn't have changed anything, but I'm fine with legit causes being recognized. Those awards may not mean anything to me and you, but it could to other people. ESPN let a person facing no type of discrimination or obstacles win an award that is supposed to represent exactly that. Guess I just value principles

people felt like ESPN were shoving it down people's throat.

The way they advertised the show it was "Caitlyn Jenner gets the Arthur Ashe courage award!..........and the other espy awards"

He deserved a E Entertainment award, not an ESPN one. He hadn't been an athlete or involved in sports for decades.

They gave him an award to promote their show and increase ratings instead of giving it to someone who legitimately deserved it.

Just never knew so many people cared about the integrity of that award.

Marvin Lewis and Shawn Peyton did more for Stills and his daughter then any stupid award.

Flame suit on. Never understood NTs infatuation with "Highly Questionable". I kinda like the idea of this new show tho.
