Well, when I used to work there back in '07, some of the shoes that were ordered weren't processed until a week or two the order was placed. People weren't really consistent with processing orders and shipment.

Order anything even remotely close to limited, and you oughta semi-expect your !*%! to get cancelled

My story..

Ordered the All Star/Playoffs 13s on midnight/11PM cdt online at FNL on the RD. Got a confirmation order number e-mail. Got a shipping notification email 3 days later. Checked the UPS tracking number, and it said "label created, waiting for UPS to pickup." Fine. Next day, same message. Day after, same message, day after next......

Waited nearly a week, no package, no shoes. Called FNL customer service, which were rude @##$#$!, saying that UPS picked up the package but didn't scan it.  I requested a refund but the person said, "they don't give refunds until they file a claim from UPS, stating that UPS lost the package, not FNL." I went to my local UPS center, showed them my package status, and they told me that "if there was no scan that UPS never retrieved the package." I told them what about FNL filing a claim on UPS? They replied that "they can file a claim but they won't win due to the tracking status stating that 'it never left FNL warehouse."

In the end, I got my refund do to another 30 hollering at FNL customer service reps. And I bought my pair through NDC's restocks.

Never again FNL. Never again. That's why I put that on my sig. Good luck with your order if you decide to place an order with them. Not that they aren't legit, they're just a risk. Hence the term "gamble."

1. Since you ordered the shoes on the release date, they were coming from the warehouse. My guess is that whoever was fulfilling your order made the label, printed it out, and somehow lost it in the shuffle and completely forgot about it.

2. The ups driver could've just stole it

In order to take care of this problem, the company now holds store managers accountable for fulfilling orders. They bonus from it on a monthly basis, and a lot of store managers now take it into their own hands to make sure orders go out.

Is it true that whenever FNL's warehouse inventory for a particular shoe gets depleted, they fulfill it by grabbing the inventory at FNL stores? Or vice versa? I ordered my pair at exactly 11:03 PM that night. So I know they weren't on backorder status. My theory was:
Either they didn't have that much sizes and since I ordered right after they went online, they tried to request my size at FNL stores. One or more FNL stores replied that they were going to ship that size, printed up the label, but miscalcuated on their inventory? Or sold that pair on the side for more money?

Or vice versa. My pair was originally on lock, ready to ship, but some idiot at FNL warehouse receives a request for my size, and he or she sends it to their FNL store?

I'm a size 13-14 BTW.

It's more of a time period they put on particular shoes. For example, when the low top taxi's drop next week, they won't start pulling from store inventories until Monday or Tuesday (usually the latter). What they do with big releases is put them on the send-sale (what it's called when your order is coming from a store) exempt list. If a shoe is on the exempt list it will be coming straight from the warehouse until store inventories are calculated and made available on Monday.
I don't know if you remember the issue on the FNL website when the altitudes dropped and it seemed as if they had a ridiculous amount of sizes. But they had forgot to put those on the send-sale exempt list and the website was showing total company inventory as opposed to warehouse inventory. They emailed the stores Saturday morning and told them to fulfill the online orders first, but a lot of store managers ignored it since the store doesn't receive credit for orders made over the net or through another store.

I've never had problems with Finishline, ordered the 11/12 CDP and LeBron Xmas 8's from there with no problems, and a bunch of other shoes as well.
