Where's the best place to exchange currency?

I'm travelling out of country next week - is it best to do it before hand with your bank or at the airport?

Order foreign currency with your bank and/or withdraw cash at an ATM abroad. Currency exchange spots will rob you. Foreign ATMs will result in a $5 charge at most; that's much better than losing out on $40 at currency exchange booths (happened to me a few times before because I used to be paranoid about using my card abroad)

any time i go to the states, i just go to my bank to exchange money

Check up on the rates. If anything always do it before hand, but you dont wanna be carrying that much cash you know?

See about your credit cards and use them at reputable merchants like hotels or whatever. If there is a few, then so be it.

Hey, you‘re traveling. You can‘t be a cheapskake as safety is your number one priority.
