Where's the humor in Pineapple Express? Do you have to be a pothead to enjoy it?

At you for treating this movie like some sort of bandwagon. Justbecause you didnt find it funny, "most" other people cant find it funny on their own? Ok.
 
I thought it was good. Then again I like all of Rogens movies so far. I did however think Zack and Miri make a Porno was funnier. Watched the unrated versionlast night and that is gross humor at its finest.
 
I'm a raging stoner and HATED this movie

and I love franco.....so that should tell you something

you wanna see a good blend of action/comedy? stick to shawn of the dead or even hot fuzz
 
I thought this movie was GREAT!...I place it up there with Friday when it comes to weed smoking flicks

I've seen it about 50 times now

And I smoke green once in a blue moon..so you can place me in the non-smokers catagory

great movie.

i was crying during parts of it cuz it was so funny.

i don't smoke nothin either.
 
a lot of the movie was dry.. but the parts that were funny had me DYING laughing in the theater.. ol boy's gf pops had me rollin

That "big sexy with glasses" scene had me rolling. Because his picture was kind of funny and then she made that comment. Plus, I'm kind of a bigguy, sexy, and with glasses.
 
Movie had such slapstick humor and was terrible. I barely laughed once during the whole thing and I was a pothead at that time. Superbad I thought was funnybut Seth Rogen needs to step his game up because to me Pineapple Express was an insult to anyone with half a brain.
 
this movie was classic. you dont have to be a pothead, but you have to understand pothead humor.. like the part where they were gathering things at JamesFranco's apartment to run from the guys chasing them and all they take are snacks and weed.. thats hilarious.. but you wouldnt understand that if you didntunderstand pothead humor..

pineapple express was a classic.. if you dont understand it.. then you have a very simple sense of humor

pothead humor isn't hard to figure out....who doesn't understand what "munchies" are associated with? The movie was basic, andnot hard to understand...I think you missed the point of the thread. Maybe it's not so much implying that I have a simple sense of humor, and that'sthe reason that I didn't enjoy the movie...but rather don't you think one NEEDS a simple sense of humor to find it funny in the first place? Hmmmm....Look...I found Harold and Kumar hilarious and Half Baked is one of my favorite movies of all-time...but you can't tell me that Pineapple Expresswas on either of those levels....those movies were heavily "pot" influenced...I don't smoke, but I found the humor....Pineapple Express...not somuch.
 
I didn't find it as funny as everyone made it out to be. I mean there are some humorous parts in the film, but other than that. It wasn't Apatow'sbest. Hopefully his next film with Adam Sandler is a winner.

But James Franco was the best in the film...I never thought he can be a comedic actor but he was pretty funny. Haha.

The skit he and Seth Rogan did at the Oscar's was pretty funny as well.

Nobody told me to watch it. Once I saw the preview (from another movie in theater) I wanted to watch it. I don't do any kind of smoking and I thought itwas pretty funny.

"Wanna wear my vest? Smell good."
