This. It's not an on-purpose design cue. I never once paid attention to it on my 99's. The literal only reason it's there is because they splatter painted the heel tab after it was put together.

I'm still trying to figure out if this guy is serious with these complaints lol. I honestly don't remember, but if they did it was just accidental because they couldn't separate the Nike Air from the rest of tab and just splattered the whole thing as one piece. Obviously we weren't meant to see black on black splatter.
