Who are these damn people who keep calling me about my car warranty being expired?

press 1 to have them connect you to an operator.. then cuss em out. worked for me

Man i thought one of my friends signed me up to some crap or something. Ive been getting calls from random places for like over a year now. Its calmed downrecently though.

I Always Figured It Was The Bank Using A Bogus Company Because They Cant Call And Harass Me Themselves. I Came To This Conclusion Because I Owe A Lot Of Money.

I have gotten these types of calls also, it's funny cuz it only started happening after Paypal was asking for my social security # and I called them up andI was like hell no, so I told them to close my account. Couple days later I receive these types of calls from everywhere: Oregon, Pennsylvania, Deleware,Georgia. I let it go to my voicemail but it only records half the message about the warranty on my car. I was like eff that I been lurking on NT too long toknow whats a scam when I see it. lol.

Also thought I was the only one.

The calls come from random area codes so I don't even bother to pick up though.

i get this all the time and its not even a person i can talk to.. its like a recording. i would cuss the hell out if it was someone i can talk to. be pissin meoff

I just press a number to speak to a representative. Then I just yell at them and tell them to stop calling. They hang up with the quickness.

Four People Accused in Robocall Scheme

(June 16) -- A civil lawsuit filed in May points a finger at four people allegedly responsible for more than $10 million in telemarketing scams.

Court documents allege that Christopher Cowart, James and Maureen Dunne, and Damian Kohlfield are behind so-called "robocall" schemes that have sent out more than 1 billion telephone calls since 2007, Fox News reported Monday. The calls feature a familiar automated message, advising listeners to connect to a specialist to extend their automotive vehicle warranty. Once connected, victims of the scam are counseled by people pretending to be affiliated with automotive dealers and told to extend their service contracts, for fees ranging from $450 to $3,000 in monthly installments. More than 1 billion of these "robocalls," so named because they are automatically dialed, were placed since 2007. The Federal Trade Commission alleges that the scam has been traced to three companies. The firms, Transcontinental Warranty, Voice Touch and Network Foundations, are owned by the defendants, Cowart, the Dunnes and Kohlfield, respectively.
