It's just the same as any piece of jewelry, like a necklace or bracelet

I bought my high school's ring like everyone else, and most people stopped wearing it after a few months.

Right now I wear my dad's old college class ring, have been for a couple years now.

In my family we pass jewels from generation to generation and a piece will be usually skip generations until there is someone whose appearance or name islike an ancestor. My spoiled little sister has a bunch of pieces that are centuries' in age and I have simple gold band with an emerald because my greatgrand father was tall, looked like me and had the same green eyes.

I guess you're right, considering I'm not really a fan of necklaces or bracelets either. It's all about watches for me...
