Why do some people use the word "my" instead of me?

I was reading through some yahoo comments earlier and some guy said a sentence somewhere along the lines of "this happened to my when I was in Sydney a couple years back". Did he mean this happened to "me"? The e and the y are very far apart so it couldn't have been an accidental typo.

Autocorrect -- like when I type "the" --> "da"

Autocorrect is a *****.

As of late it's changing my ofs to ifs for no damn reason. Also when I use to type damn it'd change it to dann. What the **** is a dann?
