Building on players instead of teams is the same reason the NBA is in the position it's in right now. WNBA can't gain a cult like following because people don't have an attachment or history with teams.
They don't even do that good of a job at building players. Especially ones who don't fit into a certain category.

The LSU medical staff and Kim scumbag Mulkey have a lot to answer for. Disgusting their handling of Last Tear. The players had no idea what they were doing but I don't blame them. Trying to get her walking when she clearly had a head injury was stupid. Kim has never cared about her players
