Austin's heel turn in 01 was an epic fail.

In terms of booking, as it should have never happened, no doubt. But Austin's heel turn made for some great matches/segments, and a perfect change for his style at the time. But as far as the booking, no way in hell should he have aligned with HHH, nor aligned with Vince, nor been almost subservient to Vince after everything that happened from 1998-2000.

Same with Luger, Sting, and Big Show. Those are guys who should have been 100% WCW through and through. Plus, it was completely lame how they figured just cause somebody had an NWO shirt on, they automatically got heat (and eventually cheers). NWO colrs did nothing for VK Wallstreet, Stevie Ray, Brian Adams, Vincent, and a handful of others.

Hogan's heel turn was mind blowing..It's something that nobody could ever see coming..Cena turning heel wouldn't come close to have the impact of Hogan's turn just for the simple fact that Cena doesn't have near the cultural relevance that Hogan had..In an age with no internet, Hogan was still known more across the globe than Cena is today..Austin may be the biggest draw/money maker of all time, but Hogan and Andre are hands down the biggest known wrestler to ever live..
I don't think you're wrong, but Rocky has to be up there somewhere.

yea man they got greedy and stupid with the nwo thing.and that austin heel turn was terribly done.should of just never happened.but the rock was crazy over at the time.

Austin had permission from Vince McMahon to call that situation on the fly and he has said he regrets not hitting a stunner. He misread the crowd.

Had Austin hit that Stunner, the Astrodome would've literally exploded from the cheers

Austin was still a tweener during the lead up to WM17, correct?

He was still getting the good crowd reactions, so no idea why he turned heel.

Yea i hate when they switch things up from what works ,while its still working...either that or they drag it on till u dont care anymore.austin and nwo are 2 examples of both these cases.i literally get angry at all the awesome potential the wcw invasion angle had.and how they didnt even come close at all smh.just please dont ruin the brand split or i might stay away and never come back

The Rock right now is of course bigger than SCSA..Nut during the AE, nobody was bigger than Austin..Flair said it..Vince said it..HBK said it..Bret said it..And The Rock said it..So Ima go with their opinion..
