Wrestling Thread Mar 25-31 | 3/28 TNA Impact LIVE | NT WrestleMania Roll Call - Check In!

- WWE released their February 2013 Key Performance Indicators. The company reported 719,000 total buys for the current quarter. Royal Rumble did 498,000 buys in January, that would put February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view at 221,000 buys.

The number is up from last year’s event, which did 178,000 buys. This year’s show was headlined by The Rock defending the WWE Championship against CM Punk.

Raw on 3/25 did a 3.21 rating and 4.61 million viewers. It’s up from 4.25 million last week but the competition was far less. Raw was, by far, the top rated show on cable as only one other show even topped 3 million viewers (Storage Wars at 3.14 million). The Pawn Stars show was in reruns and Dancing with the Stars was way down. The Miami Heat-Orlando Magic game on ESPN did 1.92 million viewers.

Even though the rating was down, it improved in the key demos as Male teens did a 2.1 (up 5%), Males 18-49 did a 2.7 (up 11%), Girl teens did a 0.9 (down 25%) and Women 18-49 did a 1.3 (up 15%). The breakdown was 67.1% male.

In the segment-by-segment:
 1. The show opened strong with the C.M. Punk segment with Undertaker doing a 3.39 first quarter.
 2. Jericho vs. Ziggler lost 441,000 viewers.
 3. The Fandango attack on Jericho and backstage segment with Sheamus & Orton & Show brawling with The Shield gained 117,000 viewers.
 4. Mark Henry vs. Usos lost 54,000 viewers.
 5. Alberto Del Rio vs. Antonio Cesaro with the Jack Swagger attack on Ricardo Rodriguez at 9 p.m. gained 371,000 viewers to a 3.28.
 6. Kane & Daniel Bryan vs. Prime Time Players lost 241,000 viewers.
 7. HHH interview lost 6,000 viewers.
 8. Wade Barrett vs. The Miz gained 71,000 viewers.
 9. The Shield vs. Zack Ryder & Justin Gabriel & Great Khali at 10 p.m. gained 187,000 viewers which is nothing for the time slot, doing a 3.29 quarter.
 10. Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow vs. Brodus Clay & Tensai and Ryback vs. 3MB in a 1 vs. 3 match lost 102,000 viewers.
 11. A.J. vs. Kaitlyn lost 257,000 viewers.
 12. The Rock-Cena segment with the legends gained 615,000 viewers and ended at 3.47.

why is tna so bad man
I find TNA to be so much better than WWE now.

I do as well.  Except for one problem.  It seems they are building to Bully Ray vs Hulk Hogan, and match at either can't happen or we don't want to happen.  I wish Hogan wasn't such a focus.

I think the hogan focus is the setup for the brooke heel turn coming sooner or later.
Probably.  Regardless, it just means more of the Hogans in the spotlight.

I'm watching a bit of Impact right now, haven't seen any of it since Robert Roode was champ a while ago.

What's Sting's storyline? Why was he yelling at someone in a room?

i watched tonight till like 8:45 or so, the opening segment was so terrible and sloppy, and im petty sure that the ending of the tag match between chavo and mexican ryback vs those other guys ended with the "illegal" men i dont remember them 2 being tagged in, but taryn :evil

Sting cosigned bully ray when he was a face and hogan said he was lying, now that bully turned heel, he's pissed at sting for talking him into trusting bully ray

Sting was yelling at the door because hogan was in there and security wouldn't let him in

interesting, these aces & 8s dudes look like dirty bums

- There continues to be suspicion within WWE on CM Punk’s status. Some believe he’s hurt worse than anyone is letting on because everyone asked is denying any injury. There are reports of this having to do with creative frustration or burnout and more nagging minor injuries than a major injury.

- WWE is booking both The Rock and Brock Lesnar for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view because CM Punk will likely be missing the event. There are incorrect reports going around that Rock vs. Brock is scheduled to main event Extreme Rules. Both will be there but there’s no word yet on who they will be wrestling.

It would be nice to see Rock and Brock win at Mania.  Then have The Rock lose the title to Brock at Extreme Rules which could set up Brock vs Punk and they could turn Punk face again by having Heyman turn on him.

I like the idea sans turns Punk face, I don't think I ever want to see him as a face again. He's the ultimate perfect heel

Damn, Scott Hall actually looks alive :eek

:lol at how he has that toothpick in his mouth

the more things change, the more they stay the same

Are there any good sites that sell old WWf t-shirts? I wanna buy one to wear to WM, but I don't want any of the current ones that WWE sells.

This match still gives me the hebejebes :smokin

The power in that match. If felt like Ali/Frazier it was just epic from the moment the intros stopped. The crowd was insane, people never sat down the whole match. This was story telling at its finest just from Hulk realizing he still got it and Rock in genuine awe of it all. Its almost like they didn't realize how incredible the reaction was gonna be. Hulk looked like he was reborn by that crowd. Jr and King brought their A game that night.

"HE BEAT ANDRE THE GIANT WITH THAT MOVE!!!!!!!!"

When Hogan Hulked up the and went for the count I swear to god the crowd was gonna break the sound barrier. The reaction to Rock kicking out was immense.

Rock talking **** to the crowd, smug as ever. Hogan with the ultimate heel face turn. It wasn't a techincal marvel but it was on the best matches in recent memory just for sheer star power. Two Titans are war man.

I love how Rock, HBK, and (though rarely) Cena can naturally heel it up in matches that are basically face vs face. All of them are so good at this, just the little intangible things they do to add to their matches.

I am a huge fan of the grace of the Swanton Bomb.
His days as a tag-brother did it for me. Did was WILD. I loved the flying style and he was one of the few daredevils out of Titan Towers.
Read their (Hardyz) book and become even bigger fans of them.
Documentary I enjoyed.
He is a big fan of the Great Sasuke which I respected.

He might be overrated sure. His matches might be as routine as RVD but that is my dude man.

Yall can go to hell.......

I understand all of this, especially after all those Hardy matches I've watched the past couple of days. When he;s bad, he shouldn't be in the ring, but when he's on, he's great to watch.

Whatever happened to Shelton Benjamin?

BTW, I actually like The Miz. I think he deserves a title push again but as a heel :\

Damn...

Reid Flair, the son of Ric Flair, passed away at the age of 24. The cause of death at this time is not known.

Reid has been training for years to be a professional wrestler, with Bobby Eaton and George South training him. He was going to debut on ROH  TV when his father was working for the company, but ROH  backed off of the plans due to the younger Flair being arrested for heroin possession. Reid had recently been working for All Japan, and WWE  had taken a look at him. Word was that WWE  was considering signing him for the developmental system.
