Wrestling Thread October 1st-31st/ No Mercy Tonight At 8PM ET/ Dolph Zigger Last Match

Yes.
Also - there has to be continuity. He has not been booked that way in NXT so it wouldn't make sense to have him come into the WWE like that.
And Miz has been the IC champ for a while now and it wouldn't be constructive, trying to build the belt back up, to have him look extremely weak
when losing the belt. It should be a competitive exchange imo; whoever the next champ is.

Makes sense

But you know these dudes just want their internet darlings to get launched to the top with no regard for the story being told

I don't see how Nakamura entering a program with Miz would devalue him

It'd be better for him to work up through the ranks instead of being blasted to the top and jobbing to the real top tier guys
Why would that be better for HIM?

He is a world class wrestler. He has headlined Tokyo Dome shows.

He is better than 99% of the roster.

Why bother building him up?

He is a big deal

Present him as a BIG DEAL on day 1.

Not vs some damn Miz

DC you know better

Average WWE fans don't care or know about the Tokyo dome or if he is world class. To them he's just a new Japanese guy who had a nice match with Sami Zayn and is NXT champion

It's better for him because it gives him a chance to show and prove

The majority of people watching WWE are casual fans...Tokyo Dome and his other accomplishments before coming to the main roster mean ZERO to them...I'd go as far as saying that a lot of folks don't even care about what he's doing in NXT

He is still just "that Japanese guy" to a whole lot of people

He WILL be that Japanese guy if you start him off in the mid card.

The point of the discussion was how to INITIALLY present him.

People not knowing his work in Japan won't matter if he is presented as a BIG Deal

That is all I am saying

Y'all say "average WWE fan" like it's the 80's/90's and the internet hasn't been invented..Do you really thing the average WWE fan hasn't heard of or google searched Shinsuke Nakamura by now?..
