Jeff Hardy Booked After SSlam, Cena/Orton, More on PPV
Date Added: August 22, 2009
Story By: Brian Cantor
-- WWE.com is advertising a Jeff Hardy appearance for Tuesday, noting that fans can meet "Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Big Show, John Morrison, Eve and Layla" at Coldstone Creamery in Scottsdale, Arizona this Tuesday from 11:30am-1pm. Jimmy Hart, Tony Atlas and Sgt. Slaughter appear from 1-3pm.
This should not be taken as evidence that Hardy has decided to stay with WWE for the long term; though WWE may not book him for the show, the plan was for Hardy to remain available through this coming week's SmackDown! taping (Tuesday).
-- Roddy Piper has been doing local Los Angeles publicity for the Summerslam event; he appeared at the previously-reported kickoff party on Friday. A PWInsider.com report started speculation that Piper might appear on the Summerslam pay-per-view, but nothing was confirmed at press time.
-- In an interview with Joe McDonnell and Bob Berger, John Cena put over Sunday's pay-per-view as a "junior version of Wrestlemania" with "a truly star-studded card." He also put over his "legitimate" dislike for opponent Randy Orton. (Source: F4WOnline.com)
WWE Announcer Teases Summerslam Surprises, Kane/Taker

-- In interviews with UK media outlets The Star and Nottingham Newspaper, WWE Superstar Kane put over fellow big man The Undertaker. Taker, set to return to WWE television very shortly, is headlining WWE's "Rest in Peace" tour in the United Kingdom this November.
Regarding Summerslam, in the Nottingham interview, Kane named Randy Orton vs. John Cena and Chris Jericho and Big Show vs. Cryme Tyme (written as "Prime Time") as the matches to watch.
-- Noting the numerous high-profile WWE names absent from the WWE Summerslam card, WWE announcer Jim Ross teased surprise appearances on the Sunday pay-per-view.
"Many young talents who have been doing well lately (Morison, Harts, Kofi, etc) are not officially on the card," wrote Ross in his latest blog. "Could that mean that some will make surprise cameos or even larger roles?"
He also expressed excitement about Shawn Michaels' in-ring return and hinted at a "spectacular presentation" for the DX duo.

Story By: Tim Brown
-- From Matt Hardy's Twitter account (Thanks to Lucas): "Here's an update for the "sheets"-Jeff & I might not team again due to pursuing singles careers. And Jeff will be with WWE after Summerslam."
-- In addition to his picture being used by an Egyptian steroid dealing ring, a photo of Batista's body is also being used on some advertisements around the internet for a product to "get you ripped."
-- Richard writes: "Not sure if this is any indication of the popularity of these guys, but almost every time I've been in one of my local 7-11's (I go late at night) they are always completely out of the Kelly Kelly, Triple H and John Cena cups. Plenty of Edge and Undertaker cups left though."

Jeff Hardy is expected to wrap his current WWE tenure either at WWE Summerslam or at next week's television tapings.
