Wyclef's charity Yele Haiti has been under scrutiny since 2005.

That Rolling Stone article was sad. Crazy that Sean Penn has been living in Haiti (whenever he's not shooting a movie) in a tent no less trying to get things done. I loved the interview he did on CNN or somewhere & said he hasn't seen Wyclef anywhere since he's been there. All that money collected & literally nothings been done yet. A bunch of ivy league psuedo professionals waving their & showingblack berries around  power point presentations...

Agreed.

This is one of the main reasons I don't like donating, because most of the money that's donated these organizations/people keep for themselves.

Not only are these comments ignorant, but I am actually lightweight offended by them. My father went from making $250K+ as a CFO to making a fraction of that heading a nonprofit organization. There are literally THOUSANDS of amazing charities out there who are doing great work. Of course not all donation money can go straight to people in need, the people who run the orgs have to get paid somehow. You'd be surprised how many charities/ nonprofits are barely scraping by.

Do some research and stop making excuses.

haiti is a prime example of successful corruption on part of the U.S and a select few elites in haiti. ALL that aid $, country is still in shambles, its really a tragedy...its like money is the worst thing to happen to mankind.
