If you don't talk to random people in an online video game you're a loner? Really? That's really poor conclusion to draw.
At most, you could assume that talking to randoms is a sign of a more competitive player, but not more social. A guy can be locked up in his room all day talking to random people in multiplayer lobbies. Is that person a loner, or no?
Like when voice chat came to consoles it was a cool novelty. But as time grew on things change. Games became better at communicating in-game information. (spotting, in-game character chatter, etc.) It's really not necessary to have a good time in a game. The average person just wants to hop online, shoot, a few people, and be done with it. Not coordinating attack routes and calling out this and that.
As for single player experiences... most of my friends don't really game anymore. So either MP or SP, i'm going to be playing games by myself. Doesn't mean that because I play and enjoy SP games I'm a loner. And it's not like people that play SP games can't talk about those games with others. Again, a lot has changed in games. There are countless communities to discuss every aspect of these games.
Now, have I, the sony "fanboy", properly explained to you neutral and objective xbox fans why that argument is completely stupid?
I'll hang up and listen.
