I think you like like MGS V then, you don't HAVE to sneak. U can run and gun if you want but it can however make the game harder of course. Additionally your ranking for a mission can be changed for being seen or killing also

Lone wanderer perk bonuses still work but only with Dogmeat I think. They should have added a feature so you can whistle and he comes to you. I tried questing with him but he would never enter buildings with me and would constantly run off to find loot.
