Microsoft Calls For Patience Over Xbox One Shortages

Various indie stores have contacted MCV over a lack of Xbox One stock for launch. Microsoft acknowledges there are shortages, but says it hopes to get to a free supply situation at some point in the future.

I feel like I have no hope with out a pre order..

I don't know why when there places like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, HHGreg, Sears, KMart, and many more that will sell the XBOX and didn't do pre-orders.

I've been checking in with gamestop here & there and they said they've yet to get their shipment in, and looking at how the PS4 was gone by basically 8 this morning I don't know if I'll luck up. No doubt I'm going to have to stand in line, but I don't want to be posted up at a spot where they have only 8 systems left and I'm #9 in line..

Pre-orders for the most part are done now. Walmart will be first come first serve at this point.

So the question my son had about the Xbox One, and I thought it was pretty goofy at the time, was whether you’d be able to hook up the PlayStation 4 to the Xbox One to play Killzone
 while taking advantage of the other features that come with the Xbox One. The word on the street was that it was technically possible due to the HDMI inputof the Xbox One, but it would introduce significant lag. I asked Microsoft’s Jeff Henshaw if this was possible, and his answer surprised me.



“It is an extremely small lag that the human eye will not be able to perceive,” Henshaw said.  So yes, it’s going to be very possible to play the PlayStation 4 using the Xbox One, and the lag, according to Microsoft’s engineer, will be very hard to detect. You could also hook up a Wii U and play the new Mario game, and then use voice commands to put that in the background and switch over to an Xbox One game without changing inputs.



It’s fun to make someone from Microsoft squirm a bit by asking these questions. So I can play games using a competitor’s console while using all these neat Xbox One features? “Um, you could,” Henshaw said, and he pauses the game to think about the answer. “If it puts out HDMI, it’ll work just great.”



In fact, he said, this is the way he and his son play Xbox 360 games at home; they have the system hooked up via the Xbox One so they can have fun with the new UI and still play Xbox 360 games. So he’s not speaking hypothetically, this is a working feature.



So your PlayStation 4 will work just fine through the Xbox One. You can keep your Wii U hooked up through your shiny new Microsoft console to play those first-party gamesand then take a call via Skype. If you put in an Xbox 360 you’ll be able to see a little Xbox 360 dashboard inside the Xbox One dashboard. Henshaw is mostly comfortable talking about using the Xbox One to drive the Xbox 360, but he admits that anyone else’s console will work.



“You can extrapolate whatever you want! “ he said with a laugh “Whatever you want to hear!”



This is pretty cool, and when both systems arrive it’s going to be an interesting experiment to use the PlayStation 4 UI from within the Xbox One’s UI. What a strange world in which we live.

Im only going to be able to cop 1 xbox one game since i purchased most shooters/sports games on the ps4. What game do you guys recommend thats exclusive to the xbox one? Dead rising?

I like forza horizon i had it on the 360 but i dont play it alot. I might go with dead rising and KI.

How does the NFL app work? Do you just need to have RedZone?

There will be extras of both consoles available to purchase, both companies have said they'll meet demand this go round.

There are a couple people that think this is 2005 trying to flip these consoles for profit, they are going to fail.

Yes very easy. Not to sound biased or a fanboy but more people wanted a ps4 and you were still able to get one at about 8 pm at night.
So yes xbox one should be a very easy COPP

Just go to the midnight release and you should be able to cop, the majority of people showing up will be picking up preorders.

I believe the system comes with 2 weeks of live free, so you'll be able to download killer instinct(free version) and Kinect sports preseason. as for games, probably dead rising.

So they just opened a new Microsoft store at the mall in Buffalo this morning and they were giving out alot of prizes including the xbone.

I went and struck out and left but my friend who was there since last night won one by being the loudest in the crowd
