I know what you mean having played wow and waiting for a piece you need to drop to get that tier set bonus :x or having nothing drop your class can use at all :xSo I have a question....those fussing about the drop rates in Destiny and tired of running the same things all the time....what kind of games do you normally play? Also, have you ever played an RPG type game before? (WoW, EQ, Diablo, etc)
I only ask because say in WoW...you do a raid instance and kill a boss (more than one in an instance). That boss has a % chance to drop each class's let's say pants. So you have to hope that your class item actually drops. Then after that you have to hope you actually get the pants since there are more than likely at least 5-7 other guys of the same class as you that could get them.
So normally for each raid, you are awarded points, and for each boss kill or time in the raid, you are given more points. With those points, you could then bid to win the class item when it drops. Someone could outbid you and then you are stuck waiting for the next raid to hope that they drop again and you try to win that one.
On top of trying to level up a tailoring class to make items for your characters or blacksmith to make weapons for you. You have to farm various items to be able to level those skills up and they can take some serious time. Not to mention, just like in Destiny, the next patch will increase the level cap, add more items to the game and basically making your items not "end-game" or "the best" anymore.
Took me a while to realize that you will never beat a game like that and there will always be something to do in games like that. I just because you guys saying how you have 60, 70, 80 hours in the game and don't have everything yet....the thing is....you aren't supposed to and honestly you probably never will. Nobody will for that matter unless you have spent a serious amount of time in the game. I playd WoW in college and had over 70 days of in game time spent on it, and I am around 5 in game days on Destiny so far. Look at the guy who hit level 30 first....He had 3 hunters and constantly ran things multiple times with all 3 to fully maximize the drops/marks/materials that he could get every week. Even after all of that, he and his clan still said that he did not play "hardcore" and wasn't on all the time. It has been what, about 6-7 weeks, and you guys are mad that you don't have everything for your characters already.
That is how it goes some times. You can go in there and get nothing for 2,3,or even 4 weeks in a row, but the next 3 or 4 runs, you could get everything and the other people get nothing. That is the chance you take when you go into those raids. Also, you only have the chance to get drops the first time you clear it every week, so you could only get something 6-7 times so far depending on when you first started doing the raids. I am going to say most didn't start raiding until the 2nd week of release so you are around 5-6 chances at the most to get gear.
Sure it would be nice to have a little more content/maps/things to do, but I think some guys need to be a little more patient in regards to how quickly you are getting drops and stuff also.
