*★*Official Chicago Bears Thread*★* return of the Monsters of the Midway 4-1 (2-0)

Q: Why was Devin Aromashodu’s playing time so limited against the Cowboys?

A: I don’t know if we need to justify any of those things to anybody. I would just say this and we’ll let this thing go: Devin is a bit of a specialist in that he doesn’t play the slot, which we asked him to do in the opener. He’s not comfortable in there. He’s not familiar with it. All four of our other receivers do play the slot and the outside. Devin just plays the outside. So his opportunities to play are reduced dramatically because of his limited knowledge of what we do at that position. He’s not a slot or a nickel guy. He’s outside. It has nothing to do with Devin’s performance.

That does not sound good for that young man I also feel a hint of he don't like going over the middle coming from the bears which is going to really limit his role

So what does that tell you? Move him outside and put Hester where he belongs. IN THE SLOT.

SMH. I like what we have done so far, but sometimes it's just the same old Bears no matter who is coaching.

Yeah I agree to a certain degree. I also realized one thing. If DA can't figure out the slot, you know sure as hell DH can't. Especially since I heard the slot in Martz' system is probably the most confusing spot of all.

Aromashodu was inactive again last night.

Yo, where is Kellen Davis this year? He could definitely have an impact in this system.

Devin Hester still has it.

Same goes for Brian Urlacher.

Jay Cutler is good, tough and opportunistic.

Cutler and his receivers still look like they’re playing different games too often.

Julius Peppers can rush the kicker as well as he can rush the passer.

The Bears can fail on fourth-and-inches as many times as Lovie Smith refuses to take the lead or tie the score.

Smith would rather be lucky than smart.

Greg Olsen is making sure the tight end has a role in the Mike Martz offense.

Desmond Clark, however, isn’t.

Martz is the reason Smith takes the ball instead of deferring when the Bears win the toss.

Tommie Harris is a waste of money.

Nobody can run on the Bears defense.

The Bears can’t run on anybody’s defense, either.

When you lose a touchdown and two interceptions because of penalties, the Packers are dumber than any preseason Super Bowl pick ever.

Hester’s punt return at the end of the first half was bigger than his TD return because if he doesn’t give the Bears field position to score in the second quarter, then his score in the fourth quarter might not have mattered.

Johnny Knox is the deep threat Hester used to be.
Two weeks in a row, Tim Jennings has made a heads-up play, recovering a fumble against the Packers after calling for a fair catch on a surprise onside kick in Dallas.

Zack Bowman is in trouble.

Ditto, Devin Aromashodu.

The quick slant still kills the Bears.

That roughing-the-passer call on Henry Melton appeared to be part of the NFL’s movement to ban pass-rushing altogether.

Packers offensive tackle Mark Tauscher just false-started again.

No, wait, he held Peppers again.

Even when the Bears made the Packers one-dimensional, Aaron Rodgers proved a scary dimension.

Olsen and Matt Forte still have ball-security issues.

If the Bears can go 3-0 that ugly, imagine what happens if they learn to block.

Nice to see a stupid and undisciplined team in Soldier Field and not have it be the Bears.

Word.

If Tommie Harris is going to be inactive every week, trade him for a good tackle or guard and continue to get better.

cut him, or send him and a 3rd or 4th for haynesworth, he'd be perfect in our 4-3 and might respond well to lovie's players-coach mentality

I'm going to the game on 12/26 v. Jets. My Dad obtained a ticket hookup and bought two tickets for face value at 85/each!

Sec 437, row 13! Same type of tickets are going for 315 each on stubhub! Let's see if that game will mean anything first.

SAN DIEGO -- When the Cubs leveled the playing field at Wrigley Field during an offseason project, guest groundskeeper Roger Bossard's crew unearthed a large part of one of the field goal posts from the days when the Bears roamed Wrigley.

Now the Cubs are giving fans a chance to play some football themselves at the Friendly Confines, with proceeds going to Cubs Charity.

On Nov. 21, the day after the Allstate Wrigleyville Classic betweenNorthwestern and Illinois, the playing field will be open to fans inhourly sessions from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. The cost is $50, and guestscan come mill in the stands for $15, with no field access. Children twoand under are free, and it's BYOF (Bring Your Own Football), thoughcommemorative footballs will also be on sale.

Mike Lufrano, senior vice-president of community affairs, called ita great opportunity for Bears fans to play where Gale Sayers and DickButkus once starred. The Bears last played in Wrigley in 1970, beforemoving to Soldier Field.
"It's a chance to see Wrigley Field like never before and toexperience the thrill of football in the Friendly Confines," Lufranosaid.

Robin Alam/Icon SMIDevin Aromashodu says coaches have to understand players aren't going to be perfect every time.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Perhaps Devin Aromashodu could benefit from a conversation with Mike Martz regarding his current situation.

Because up to this point, it doesn't sound like Aromashodu has gone out of his way to seek answers from the Bears coaching staff.

"We've talked briefly, but not as far as the reason why I didn't play," Aromashodu said Wednesday. "Obviously, they saw something that maybe they felt I didn't do that other players brought. So they went with that.

"I don't know [what exactly I did wrong]. I would have to go and discuss that with them to find out."

After leading the Bears with 10 passes thrown his way against the Lions in Week 1, Aromashodu has disappeared from the game plan. He didn't see a pass come his way against the Cowboys in Week 2 and was inactive for the Packers game.

One thing is clear: Aromashodu isn't the only starting-caliber player relegated to standing on the sidelines. While people have lauded Bears coach Lovie Smith for holding his players accountable, that decision-making style could backfire and produce a negative vibe in the locker room.

"It sends a little bit of a message, but we don't want to put too much pressure on ourselves, because when you are walking on egg shells you really can't play well," Aromashodu said. "You still got to go out there and let it loose. You're not going to be perfect every play, that's something they have to understand. As coaches, they're not going to make the right call every play. We just have to learn from our mistakes and try to do our best."

idk what to say about this dude but he is really #!*+%+* up
Bears: Harris in, Clark out
As they've done all season, the Chicago Bears made some interesting pregame decisions for Sunday night's matchup at the New York Giants:
 • Veteran tight end Desmond Clark was deactivated and is a healthy scratch for the first time in a Bears career that started in 2004. David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune notes Clark dropped a fourth-and-goal pass in Monday night's 20-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers. The Tribune's Brad Biggs notes that Clark has played only 14 offensive snaps this season, so the move probably is related to multiple factors.
 • Defensive tackle Tommie Harris was in uniform after the Bears surprisingly deactivated him for the Packers game. Meanwhile, reserve Marcus Harrison was back to inactive status.
 • Like Harris, receiver Devin Aromashodu was active after a one-week trip to the inactive list.

 1. [*]Toeaina starts at DT for Tommie Harris. Tim Jennings wil start at LCB over Zack Bowman. half a minute ago via txt [*] In effect, Aromashodu gets Clark's spot on 45 man roster. 1 minute ago via txt [*] Devin Aromashodu also active for #Bears tonight. Will be interesting to see what role he has. More than special teams? 2 minutes ago via txt [*] Giants unveiling Ring of Honor tonight. Apparently punter Brad Maynard, w/ Super Bowl record for punts w/ NYG, must wait 3 minutes ago via txt [*] Tommie Harris is active. He takes the place of Marcus Harrison, who was ineffective last week in his effort. 12 minutes ago via web [*] Through the first 3 games, Desmond Clark had been on the field for only 14 snaps, two less than TE Kellen Davis. 13 minutes ago via web [*] It is the first healthy scratch Dez Clark has had with the Bears since 2003, that is for certain. 14 minutes ago via web [*] Inactive 4 Giants: Ramses Barden, Bruce Johnson, Keith Bulluck, Phillip Dillard, Shaun O'Hara, Will Beatty, Mathias Kiwanuka, Rocky Bernard 15 minutes ago via web [*] But the move speaks mostly to how Clark's role has been reduced. 16 minutes ago via web [*] Clark dropped a pass in the end zone on 4th-and-goal from the 1 last week. There is accoutability for you. 17 minutes ago via web [*] Inactive for #Bears: LT Chris Williams, CB Josh Moore, RB Kahlil Bell, DE Corey Wootton, DT Marcus Harrison, QB Caleb Hanie, S Major Wright 17 minutes ago via web [*] Desmond Clark is inactive for #Bears tonight 28 minutes ago via tx
