Vado?

i remember those shirts :lol terrible

the fact that people went crazy for em is disgusting

Im a young dude (23) but even I remember that Jim Jones and Juelz started the whole tight/rockstar kinda look. Then everyone started wearing more fitted/tight clothes, then it evolved to what it is now.

Dead @ Hood History

I always wanted one of those LV All over text shirts but ain't have the money to get it then, don't have the money to get it now

Why'd you edit that Queens House comment out? :lol I feel you on that **** though. I'm GIJOE, In Living Color, Cross Colors era too.

...Because I read it over and realized I had misread the initial comment.

I thought it read, imagine getting locked up and seeing dudes in there acting rah-rah dressed like that. But, when I read it back, I saw that it read imagine coming home from a bid and seeing how "things done changed."

It didn't seem as relevant.

But, yeah - that was just one manifestation of it. I see young bucks on the board talking about "I had these for 5th grade basketball" and I'm like WHOA - I remember wearing these when - pick from this list

- I spent a weekend in bookings
- to class in freaking grad school
- on vacation during Spring Break
- to casual Friday at work
- to The Tunnel, Limelight, NASA, CBGBs... whatever

Yo, Ninja, you sure know a lot of about Cam'ron's weed carriers!

Honestly, I'm not even going to argue much on the Jim Jones slim down effect. Actually, all your posts are really doing is reinforcing to me just how unplugged from that scene I became at a certain point. I mean, I can basically recite every COC Cam'ron verse from memory, yet when you post album covers from Jimmy and Juelz, I have to admit these are albums I had no idea ever even existed. Other than "Ballin" and if "Hey Ma" was a Juelz track, I literally can not name a single song title from Jimmy, Juelz, Zeeky, JR Writer... any of those dudes. I guess that's why I find it hard to believe their influence was so great. But, maybe it was. I mean, to a whole different audience it would sound equally absurd to suggest that Grand Puba was hugely responsible for the escalation of Hilfiger. So, maybe you're right after all.

I'll pick my battles, and I'm not picking this one.

BIP, I've read the last few pages and I might be in the minority here, but I surely can't be the only person to notice that while a small portion of the population were sporting super baggy then ultry skinny clothing - the rest of the world was just wearing clothes that fit.
