tactics dont work at all in 18, no matter how many times i set neymar to cut inside and stay forward he end’s up turning into a LM somehow lmao

They put in Dynamic tactics. So before, u can use dpad to switch between defensive, balance, attacking etc. but have to pause to change formation. Now u can customize tactics and formation for each of those. So I can start out 442 on balance but if I’m defending a lead, I can change my team shape to 4231 by just using dpad to defensive in middle of the game. As far as tactics, it’s somewhat simplified. No more 100 numerical setting, just on a scale of 1-5 but less settings. I like the formation switch but not sold on tactics. I prob should have played with it more on the beta.

i hate how the most common formation in real life 433 is unusable in fifa while the least used 41212 narrow is the meta.

the amount of 4-1-2-1-2 i’ve seen this year was disgusting. Idk if I can handle another season of Gaucho, Gullit and Prime R9 every game. I’m gonna decide if i should get the game once black friday rolls around.

you have to position neymar as a LF instead of LW.
Then you have to turn his instructions to "stay central" for positioning and also "cut inside" for chance creation.
also, change the other instruction setting to "false 9" and it will be more accurate.

the AI for fifa 19 is all about taking the open space.
so you also have to position the players around neymar to occupy spaces that kind of force him to cut inside if that makes sense.

I sold my ps4 after reaching my ultimate rage from weekend league. Vision hasn’t been clearer since
Thankfully I don't really get frustrated playing videogames but I can definitely see how WL isn't the greatest for avoiding stress
My friends always rage playing against me because I score a lot of utter ******** goals, even though most of the time they end up winning.

This one had me howling and my friend just completely lost it and refused to play against me for a while when I scored a goal off a throw in that should've never been given to me in the first place. I was still dying at getting that throw in from a blatant bad cross I kicked out of bounds (checked in replay, no contact from his player) and the goal was just the icing on the cake.

This one was even worse from a regular kickoff match. His Ter Stegen got back up and punched that ball right into his own goal

the first part has me intrigued. the ability to change tactics and formation in game is awesome cause most teams do this nowadays

Can't wait to try these new features when the demo drops on thursday.

Exactly. Think of it like two of the same poles on a different magnet. They will repel each other. When players are in a space, it will force him to go elsewhere

Speaking of FIFA, Mancini is doing what I do when I play and has 9 different players in his starting XI compared to Italy's last game. He's trying to figure out his best combo against Portugal right now. just started.

Honestly though, the stupid @#$@ that happens in FIFA is great for comedy purposes, especially when you're playing it with friends while drinking and preparing to go out. I just refuse to pay the full $60 for a game I'm laughing at

Even though I gameshare with someone I’m being frugal and waiting for Black Friday for games. I’m also going through a transition with some things at the moment so the less games the better for now. We’ll see if I can hold off for Spidey.

 all of these FIFA rage stories

Custom tactics on FIFA are definitely booty. I was done with FIFA as soon as one of my boys used to always lob through balls to Diego Costa and walk my defenders and bully my keepers.

No way Diego got 100 speed and first touch is always perfect. None of those problems on PES.

BUT I will say, out of the box, for quick fun with friends or online, FIFA is king. No doubt about it. PES is not that game (yet)

But I feel like where you sacrifice in casual enjoyment in PES, you gain in effort in delivering a sim football experience. If I tell a player to do something, they do it

And to be honest, I don't know if I'd want PES to chase what FIFA is good at. I'm perfectly fine with buying both (buying PES and getting FIFA on sale later) because they offer 2 different experiences. PES is great at single player mode. I'm the type of guy who likes to set the AI to its hardest difficulty and play a manager career or just run a single player exhibition.

Konami just needs to hire some better graphic designers because the menu screens look like they're from 2004

And $60 controllers are too much to be cracking over online L's

I used to always find random players that ranged from trash to average in real life but were gods in FIFA for some reason. To this day, FIFA 11 is my favorite because of how many of those players it had. I used to drown people with goals from Park Chu Young, Chris Wondolowski, Serge Djiehoua, the entire Young Boys team, and the entire Columbus Crew team.

One of my friends is pretty good; I've only beaten him once in like 20-30 times we've played, and it was because Wondolowski scored 6 goals on AC Milan  First time I made him rage quit, and I stopped playing him after that with some "I'm the reigning champ now"

cop em in the winter window pep mold him into a holding mid :emoji_pray:

Oh yeah, FIFA's manager mode scouting is definitely better than PES.

EVERYONE has Douglas Costa speed on Fifa, and I hate that

And Arsenal has been the best team in a PL save since like FIFA 14. Every time I've ever simulated a game with or against Arsenal, Arsenal got the W. I've never actually won a sim'ed match against arsenal.Theo Walcott used to be Arjen Robben in a Walcott kit

That speed is what baffled me during the Mertesacker tackle on me when I was running with Ronaldo. Slowest athlete in the history of sports casually sprinted 50 meters at Usain Bolt speed to tackle one of the most fit humans of all time. I saw him coming onto the screen from behind me and was like "Wtffffffff????" Then he hit me with a completely clean Maldini tackle from behind to stop me from scoring. Amazing

The only way I’ll entertain someone’s opinion on PES is if they admit that 2016 was trash. It’s the only edition I’ve played/bought and it was not a sim at all. It was NFL blitz. Scoring was a joke both against difficult com and online where trading goals felt like basketball.
