taylor twellman is an annoying little prick
he wasn't good either

US NT looked terrible last night
no direction. same diet english football
i lost it and had to change the channel back to brazil after i saw the US play out the back from a goal kick. they soaked up the pressure nicely stringing about 4 or 5 passes around their own box.
then the ball made its way back to the keeper with no pressure and what does he do... boots it upfield to the other team. :smh:

I think y'all putting too much weight on last night's match, its an incomplete team under a lame duck coach against a Mexican C team? I didn't watch past minute 20, so I don't how bad it was but I know it didn't mean much. The GM just started so I can understand why a new coach hasn't been hired yet. Why did he just start two weeks is a better question.

Eddie speaking fax

IMO, after getting eliminated the Federation's only plan was to get the world cup bid that's it and cash out after the fact. The GM is a made up position and I don't even think even Stewart knows what's expected of his job. We're not gonna figure out what's our identity with an MLS coach. No other federation in the world would wait THIS long for coaching change.

that all changed when Green came on.. he was spraying the ball everywhere and really instrumental in anything positive in the 2nd half.

That's what the English call it

But how does one consume the process of operating a motor vehicle as a beverage?

We need answers that only the queen can provide

I agree whole wholeheartedly with what Twellman said & I agree with the way it was delivered. The problem is the caliber of names he mentioned. It would not matter if the US got Pep or Bielsa. You can't make a lame horse a thoroughbred. You can't take dog crap & make a pot roast out of it.

The US may have 5-6 really good superb young players. The rest can't compete on the level needed. Since I've been watching the NT, the problem has always been & still that we don't have the creative players to compete. That has not changed & will not change anytime soon. mls is incapable of growing talent (it's a monumentally crap league) & the US doesn't have the youth set up to create, grow, & nurture players.

Kimchi Papi Kimchi Papi while I for the most part side with the fact that we don't have enough creative players at this time, I'm wondering if we're even doing more than due diligence to find them at early adolescent levels. The US is freaking huge, and a federation that has $130-140 million surplus needs to hire more staff and/or pay more for better scouts. Spread them all over the country instead of just having them squat at expensive-entry tournaments that only showcase clubs/players that can afford it.

Grassroots efforts have been lacking as well, we have our kids crossing over and playing organized footy before even having basic ball manipulation skills and being able to move around without looking at the ground all the time.

IMO, the whole thing needs to be blown up & rebuilt. We really don't have a certification process for coaching in the states for any youth sport & specifically in football. In countries abroad, you have to have uefa coaching licences in order to coach football which also requires course work. None of that exists here. There are too many father coaches that really have no idea what they're doing coaching teams. This is what needs to change first & foremost IMO. I also think there needs to be a more grass roots foray into inner cities. I honestly think if we built programs in various places around the country, we could get the type of players we need.

Sounders have been working with Seattle Parks to build little fields like this around the city:
yesler field.jpg

Simple permanent goals and the area is maintained by the City of Seattle Parks staff. They even leave a ball on the field and make sure it's not flat for long periods. This area is right next to downtown (Pioneer Square/International District) and has a population in the neighborhood that includes housing developments for low-income families. I took my son there this past Saturday and two African American kids, around 7-8 years old, came by and joined us in playing an impromptu 2v2 and had a blast! Stuff like this is barely scratching the surface but it matters.

I grew up in the Southend of Seattle (Rainier Valley/Rainier Beach) and have been pressing Seattle Parks to install small-sided courts or fields in our area where a lot of minorities and immigrants remain.

I think people reading way to much into Miazga making fun of dudes height. Yea we know height doesn't = ability thats obvious but mans was just talking **** to a dude who just fouled him and kicked out at him its not that big a deal .
Nah B... It deserves more scrutiny especially since homey calls himself a devout Christian... Typical of these deplorable country club frat boy kids.

To his credit, Lainez told reporters after the game -
"We aren't all going to be the same height," Lainez told reporters after the game. "Some of us are smaller, others very tall and others in the middle, but [the incident] is nothing, totally to do with football."

"It doesn't offend me in any way. Everyone has their own way of thinking. He's here at home with his fans. I don't know. I'm calm and I don't see it as an insult."

Hope he makes it to Lyon or Monaco as rumored.

Thats dope. I remember when we got our basketball courts fixed at a local park as sa kid.

Things like that boosts kids morale around the area. You'll start seeing more kids walking to the parks, running, getting active and fit.

Humid summers in the DMV are trash tho. I'd imagine in Seattle outside of the rain, at least on warm days it doesn't feel thick and disgusting outside in July

Need two guys to step up and have the Messi vs Ronaldo type rivalry

So far it’s looking like Mbappe might reign supreme on his own.

Only one showing the potential to be give him competition is Vinicius, but how much of a rivalry could there be between two guys on the same team
