It understandable to think what Costa did is wrong without the context, but when you break it down Di Fransesco most likely said something racist, and had history that nobody besides Series A followers knew about. Costa has apologized to Juve and won't apologize to Di Fransesco so, I wish Costa would come out and say what was said to him, and Series A punishes Di Francesco and docks Sassuolo points. Maybe that would finally send a message.

There is only one thing that elicits a reaction like that from a man of color, especially a black man. Unless you live a in vacuum, one would understand that. Regardless of whether or not you follow footy and/or Serie A, one should know that Italy is one of the most racist countries in the world, the only one that did very little to stem the tide of the far right facism post WW2. In fact, racism permeates it's history (even more than other countries). Only an absolute moron would argue or suggest otherwise.

Edit - For some context, here are the current state of affairs in that country. These are just some of the incidents mostly from the summer alone.

• Macerata shooting: On 3 February 2018, 28-year-old Italian shot and injured six African immigrants in a drive-by shooting incident that was described as an act of revenge motivated by the Murder of Pamela Mastropietro. The suspect, Luca Traini, was arrested wearing the Flag of Italy draped over his shoulders near a WW2 memorial in Macerata. Triani was described as a far-right political sympathizer who locals report was acquainted with Mastropietro.
• Caserta, 11 June 2018. Two Malian men are attacked by a few people with air guns from a car and get shot. According to the victims, the aggressors were singing the praises of Interior minister Matteo Salvini.
• Naples, 20 June 2018. Konate, a young Malian immigrant, is injured by a few people shooting him in the belly with a pellet gun while returning home after his work at a restaurant.
• Forlì, 5 July 2018. An Ivorian man is injured by air gun shots from a running car.
• Latina, 11 July 2018. Two African migrants get shot at a bus stop, again from a running car.
• Rome, 17 July 2018. A Roma child is wounded after being shot with an air gun. Some days later, the shooter is found. He justifies himself saying that “he was just doing some training with the new gun, no intention of shooting anyone”.
• Vicenza, 26 July 2018. An Italian man shoots a builder from Capo Verde who was working across the street. He justify himself stating that he was “taking aim at a pigeon”
• Partinico (Sicily), a migrant from Senegal gets beaten up by Italian men yelling “Go back to your country, dirty n*****r”
• Roseto (Abruzzo), 30 July 2018. An Italian-Senegalese man tries to renew his health card at a local hospital. An employed tells him: “Go away, this is not a veterinary office”
• Pistoia (Tuscany), 2 August 2018. An immigrant of unknown nationality was assaulted by two men that shouting racist comments against him.
• Falerna, Calabria, 14 August 2018. A Dominican citizen was assaulted and injured by a group of assailants that shouted racist comments against him. His Italian mother-in-law was also beaten.
• Partinico, Sicily, 14 August 2018. Four Gambians and an Ivorian citizen were beaten and assaulted by several attackers for racist motives.

The bottom line? If you don't know about the state of affairs in Italy, don't comment & suggest otherwise. Up until recently, there were reports of racial abuse/crimes every day in Italy until state politicians had the news outlets stop the constant reporting because it looked so bad. You show your *** when you post thinking you know something when you don't.
