If the concern is that even the players and staff are at risk a playoff wouldn't avoid that cause they would still be playing. And people would still gather in crowds at bars and other local venues and that wouldn't help stop the spreading either

doing a playoff style presumably behind closed doors to determine the winner of a season campaign feels like doing penalties to determine who wins a fifa match against a friend. It’s completely unsatisfying and not a proper tie breaker. Also Barca and RM have been playing in a way that would be disgraceful to being crowned champ anyways.
