Now that this campaign's shirts are going on sale, no one has a Thiago home shirt in kids sizes. :rolleyes

I remember Thiago's first classico... I hope he doesn't become injury prone. He & Isco are my favorite young players...

Kimchi Papi Kimchi Papi though i will agree with fellaini and mata.. I think not having UCL football narrowed the selection of players we were able to lure to united, I think on top of that the announcement of the adidas deal automatically ensured we would be overpaying for everyone. Falcao was a gamble but with his track record you wouldn't have thought he would fall off so hard. ALOT of ppl have made those comments about United.. Im more surprised with the statement being aimed at city... care to elaborate?

Beans, you're my man 100 grand in this thread (Champ too). Both of you seem like good dudes...

Having said that, c'mon man. You can't see that City roster being a mess? Firstly, most of the squad are in their very late 20s & early 30s. On paper, City are indeed loaded with talent, but they don't play well together as a unit & it gets highlighted when they play above average teams.

They rely to much on a singular player to propel them to a win, Aguero or Ya Ya. Pick me any of their midfielders that have played well as unit through most of the campaign. Same with their defense which has just been terrible.

They also have the most eclectic group of strikers in Europe. I'd keep Bony & Aguero & bag the rest...

No doubt.. I only ask your opinion cuz you're one of the few I respect.. BUT you said city have signed players based on names and not actual contribution to their system.. I can't agree with that. I do agree they are in shambles but i don't think that their transfer policy is the reason. I think how they've dealt with contracts/players was all wrong and its finally coming to a head. I always wondered how they would be able to keep players motivated with the amount of money they were paying.

Arsenal had so many chances. Double save from Fabianski brought by Theo and Alexis. Crazy possession. Deserve to lose.

Credit to Monk here...he has setup his team VERY VERY well to deal with an in-form Arsenal...

I mean, technically speaking, Swansea look like they could finish in 7th or 6th pending on how the coin drops...what a great story for them.

They spent £73 mill combined on Mangala, Fernando, & Bony who don't feature in the starting 11 regularly at all. That's terrible money spent. Also factor the dough spent to bring in Sagna which is their other signing within th last transfer windows & that's money spent foolishly. I hate seeing Bony sitting at on the bench...

I used to appreciate what arsenal was to world football back in the day, but nowadays Arsene Wenger just gets on my nerves. He comes off as a stubborn sore loser when comparing his squad to other EPL teams, how can you lose and say "We were unlucky against a team who refused to play completely and just defended"? I swear Wenger is more pragmatic than LVG, a change of tactics could have won the game but maybe I'm wrong. No disrespect to "beautiful football" but having possession of the ball is fine, even though you need to defend if you want to possess a trophy

Wenger has always had a problem with switching to plan B. When plan A works out well, it's wonderful, but once a team has Wenger's plans figured out, he doesn't change the tactics, and you get the same result you saw today. I'm guessing he's hoping with the right additions next season, he'll never have to need a plan B...

He has the most secure job in European football, why would he change anything?

When City is clicking on all cylinders I believe they are the best team in the BPL to watch, excuse my homerism. Chelsea has been our kryptonite but every other team is beatable in the BPL. What I feel happen this campaign is the lack of confidence and uninspired play. Pelligrini did a sub-par job to motivate them to win when morale was low.

Injuries have played a big part also. Players really never got in form and mix that with injuries and you get what City has been looking like all season. I don't think there were many games when City was in full force.

Like Beans said, Mangala and Fernando didnt really pan out. Mangala and Mr. Octopus looked like the real deal coming from Porto. There were also a few teams who were knocking on Porto's door for Mangala too. Coupe is laughing all the way to the bank right about now. Bony is also a steal so I don't really see how the transfers were that big of a factor.

With our players we aren't the typical BPL team who heave the ball up. Many technical players who can dribble and string together passes with great movement but that's only when they want to play. Like I said, injury plagued season a long with little motivation to play this year made it difficult to find form.

not totally surprised Arsenal lost,Swansea beat them 2-1 earlier this season...
still think the Gunners are in a more favorable position to finish top three though...
they've got a game in hand and only need a draw against Utd this weekend to secure that automatic CL spot...
