Oh damn, Hannibal going to face a double whammy, Chiellini & Patrice Evra... :x :lol

Barca better have a ton of crisis councilors on hand for this one.

For a team that was pegged to have too much depth to start the season, it sure didn't look like it whenever they didn't have their starting XI

Yea they were in the running for a double last week, but it was always extremely unlikely. They looked like Fugazis once they got hit with injuries halfway through the season.

And what the hell happened to their midfield? In the beginning of the season we all questioned if they could defend, but what did they do on offense? Rarely in the latter half of the season did they display cohesiveness and impress for most of any match.

It seemed like a team that was always just Ronaldo popping up and getting the goals.

Kroos went ghost in the 2nd half of the season. RM for sure needed more mid field depth

Aside from the UCL, got to go watch the New England Revolution practice this morning.

Pretty fun to watch them run through some drills before finishing with an 11v11 scrimmage.

Jones, Nguyen, Davies, Agudelo, Fagundez were showing off some nice skills.

Hopefully this year they can finally win the MLS Cup.

All the players were gracious enough to come over and take pictures and sign my jersey.

I would attribute Madrid's loss more to their defense more than anything.

Missing Modric was also a loss obviously.

I would attribute their loss to juves outstanding defense

That too. I had my doubts about Allegri when they announced his hiring but he definitely got the Old Lady over the hump of their recent CL troubles in convincing fashion no less.

I was afraid that he would have his team play defensively & just play for possession but they didn't...

And for those that say Bale didn't pick his price, no player ever does. Doesn't mean players can't be scrutinized for underachieving. And if you're an Olympic level athlete then working hard really isn't impressing anyone or sufficient. And it's not about how much he went for. Even if the fee was hypothetically never disclosed, he was arguably the best player in the world outside of La Liga before moving to Spain. People naturally expect a young player who was such a force to get better, not regress.

I don't think this loss was more about Juve. It was Madrid getting exposed. I followed them the whole season and they were never convincing after that streak ended. They were individuals that had moments instead of a team that played matches.

I think bale returns next year. We haven't seen the real threat of RM offense at its highest..somebody like Kloop can unleash it.

You really thought they did enough of offense? 1 goal at the Bernabeu knowing you probably need at least 2?

This team is broken. Luka Modric shouldn't determine the fate of an entire team. A win today would have just been covering it up.

I'm still really disappointed that a midfield with that level of attacking talent can never boss a match on offense.

Madrid will likely bring in De Gea, and have Danilo to address issues on defense. Varane, Ramos, and Marcelo are all class.

But what the hell is going to happen with this midfield and underperforming front 3.

Maybe Klopp can figure it out...

Maybe y'all Madrid fans should just give Juve credit for outplaying y'all

I'm sure every Madrid fan is giving Juve credit, but at the same time Madrid should not have looked the way they have these past few months. It's unacceptable.

It really isn't about that though. The highlight of the first leg was Ancelotti stupidly putting Ramos in the midfield where he was a mess. And Pepe and Varane having no chemistry and not being able to cover for Marcelo. I don't think Juve did anything spectacular. Including defensively. Real beat themselves. Props to Morata though.

And Real dominated the first half today. Unfortunately when Luka is out they can't finish or generate clean chances because he can't use elven sorcery to redirect balls.

This.

I still have faith in Bale.

I do too if anyone has the balls to play him in the middle 3 instead of right wing where I'd love to see James.

Btw Coupe, can Ronnie play the number 9 with the right supply :lol
