Neymar carried Brazil in the world cup in my opinion. I thought he played extremely well and was the only dangerous person going forward for them for the majority of the tournament. Not that i think if he would have played they would have won...but he didn't play vs Germany when they got thrashed 7-1.
I think i can agree that he is slightly over hyped. But as stated Nike is probably footing the bill for his meet and greets and who wouldn't want to meet Klay and Steph and MJ and the biebs. I would be doing the same thing he is if i was in his position.
Mexico looked good last night that dude Cornona out wide was balling where does he play club ball? Uruguay did not

I kinda like the idea of Samuel Umtiti... He seems like a young player that's ready for the next step up. Reminiscent to another left sided Frenchman that came to Camp Nou... Everything I've read recently about the kid talks about what a great head he has on his shoulders.
I can understand the hate on Neymar but he's supremely talented. He does have an extremely douchey persona on the pitch but that was created in response to the hack-a-Neymar defensive tactic that took place when he was at Santos & now carrying over to La Liga. Defenders try to the overly physical with him to get him off his game & they talk mad ish to him too in an effort to get in his head.
It doesn't help that he's tried showing defenders up with his array of moves.
I don't think he's hit his prime yet though. I wish someone at Camp Nou would help him develop better mechanisms in dealing with the extra physical defenses though because I think he could be more lethal if he discovered the way to absorb the contact & use it for his momentum the way Messi has done for instance. The less diving when getting legitimately fouled could result in more scoring or passing opportunities in the final third.
Also Neymar doesn't & shouldn't add bulk, but I'd like to see him hit the weights to get stronger.
