I don’t doubt he’ll improve but remember this summer that I somewhat defended him and probably overestimated how much he can improve in my back-and-forths with some folks on here. Shannon Sharpe's unfiltered honesty is better than anything, anyone, that ESPN has to offer. He isn't a sports journalist, and people tend to take him lightly due to his accent, the dumb slow southerner stereotype, but when it comes to discussing the psyche of an athlete? There is nobody better on television right now. Also, he isn't afraid to mix social issues from an unapologetically Black perspective, into the mix.

He reminds me of Deron Williams during his first few years in league in Utah, until he burned out. I expect the same to happen for Doncic. For me the hype is similar to what was going on in NY with Jeremy Lin. But once people figured out that he only went left, it was a wrap.

I did not compare his playing style to Lin. What I did suggest was that the league figured out Lin's weakness, and then took away his strengths. Again, I do not consider a comparison to Williams to be an insult. Deron was a problem for quite a few years.
