Sixers won’t move Ben for anything less than a guy like Beal.

it’s more likely they keep him and try to add a guy like Lowry. Or try to move Tobias for a guy like CJ.

im a big Tobias fan but I think he is more likely to get dealt than Ben. Great season, value is high. Trade him for a Lavine or CJ and move Ben to the 4

Great thought on Tobias and that is the real blessing in disguise about the Simmons.

Tobias laying yet another egg in the playoffs is getting swept under the rug.

Gotta move him NOW.

Bulls aint trading Lavine for Tobias.

You can kind of talk yourself into Ben Simmons in Chicago being surrounded with Nik Vucevic and Coby White. :ohwell:

Yep, Ben is obviously more effective down low. And I think the intent this off-season, if we keep him, is to develop a midrange game. Tobias and Embiid cooked in the post together. But as soon as Danny went down, we saw the same clogging issues with Ben/Tobias/Embiid that we saw last year.

Not saying it’s the best scenarios but I think the most likely scenarios are:
1) Trade Tobias for a guard (Lavine, CJ, etc) and move Ben to the 4
2) Keep Ben and sign Lowry

This is hilarious.

Sixers will be lucky to get Mo Bamba right now lol

Just like with Gobert, people are going overboard with the Simmons stuff  He can help you win a lot of regular season games, and help you win a round in the playoff

Minnesota has made the playoffs once in the last 17 years. Sacramento hasn’t made it at all in the last 15.

Several other teams that haven’t sniffed playoff success in forever, would love to win 50 games and have a shot at the conference finals every year.

Simmons has plenty of trade value still.

People can’t have nuanced conversations some times :lol yeah everyone in Philly is still mad at him. But I’ve had time to think about it and I’m Lowkey scared on what this team will look like without him. Yeah most of the country watched him in the playoffs. But dude balled out in the regular season and we would not be a #1 seed without him.

hes *** but he’s not. He needs pretty specific circumstances around him to succeed. And when he has that, he’s an excellent player. And that’s why he’s the most bizarre player to discuss in the league

To add to that, if you really watched a lot of Sixers games this year, Ben was the glue that held this team together. This team would be a disaster without him if you didn’t fill in those holes in return.

you could argue that lots of other guys in the league could do what he does for a fraction of the cost, I get that.

but we have to realize that discussions around Ben can’t be black and white. No light skinned pun intended

They are though. He's a liability in the playoffs period and when you're a max player the expectations are different. He's hasn't improved at all since college. That's pretty much known.

And that’s the hard thing to gage, everything you said is true. But who do you trade for that would realistically make your team better. Sixers are in a pretty tough spot.

everyone on the planet sees the talent is there. He just hasn’t reached his full potential. And he may never

Who gave Tobias that contract? I saw he was making 35M's. Under no circumstance, or one that involves championship perspirations, is he more than a 3rd option

How does Ben return to Philly after all the national slander, Sixer staff ducking questions about his future, jersey burnings and all that?

If I were him I'd probably want a change of scenery like Fultz. Might actually do him some good.

Was thinking that too. But Morey patient AF, he going to let things cool down before even considering anything

they are already talking about his off-season training plan :lol

What happened to the Ben Simmons from his first playoff series against Miami? I thought he was onto something back then

There’s bigger issues than just Ben Simmons and his bball handicaps. That Weitzman article pretty much confirmed alot about what many have always seen on the surface with him. The kid is a bit of an *** hole, is surrounded by a circle of enablers, and doesn't really want to switch it up. He doesn't really think anything is wrong. In the post-game 7 presser...he mentioned "doing his job" simply because Trae Young had a bad shooting game and he had 13 assists. If you move him off the ball...he's going to *****.

His ideal destination should be somewhere where they'll let him keep playing "point guard" without aspirations of contending anytime soon. I cannot imagine why Philly would or should just run it back with a "new plan" for an "improved" Ben Simmons.

-name redacted- not allowed in Philly. Needs to go like Wentz

Morey needs to find a way to get both CJ from the Blazers and Deacon Isaac from the Magic in the same move with -name redacted-. Get better on offense and the drop off on defense with Deacon Isaac is still to none
