That story was super weak.

You owe me 4 minutes.

He got some good ones

Clyde Drexler has a memory of Larry from his rookie year:

“I was guarding him my rookie year, he looked at me and he goes “you can’t stop me”…I looked at him and said “gosh, boy you’re so confident”. He goes “Confident? You’re a rookie, you don’t know anything!”

“He proceeded to score 10 straight points on me, coach took me out the game, he walks by and he’s laughing at me.

Kevin McHale tells the story:

“I was getting ready to start a game, get up to the jumpball, and Larry says, out of the blue, he says “go ahead Kevin, tell Elvin Hayes what you told me.”

I didn’t tell him anything. He said “GO ahead, you said you were going to kick his ***”. Elvin Hayes was looking at me, and at that point it was hard to say no I didn’t say anything, so I said ey I guess so!”

Sheeeit

I'm 5'10, stopped growing at 14. I been known my hoop dreams was done.

You posed to be the baller though where your YouTube channel or something?
****, I didn't get to 5'9" until Junior year. It's safe to say that I wasn't going to get into the Varsity team unless my athleticism and skill went up exponentially.

Mugsy is way way smaller. Your hoop dreams are still alive. I wouldn't rely on height though. I'd be looking more on arm and leg length and hand size over height. Had a buddy of mine who can't really jump that high but because of his long arms and big hands, it seemed like he could jump high.

You have to be exceptional also you have to fight your way for playing time. There's no point being in the squad if your only role is a bench warmer and a practice buddy. this doesn't include favoritism which is another problem.

I need to hit up that audition. Can hoop and I look like a movie star. Might be too good looking to be in an Adam Sandler movie tho. He always makes sure he bags the models in his movies...I'm not here for it.

I swore I was gonna be 6'6 :lol

I was doing the math and everything thinking I'm gonna grow 2-3 inches a year til 18. I can jump out the gym but once I started playing against dudes 6'2-6'5, nah. I remember I got the 17 Jordans in 02 in a size 11. I still wear a 10.5-11. My growth spurt happened fast and that was it. Football was my love because I was always fast, sometimes I wonder if I stayed with that.

My wish back then was to be atleast 6'2. While I was a leaper, I could have used some length leverage. It's funny how such length limitation make you work harder and develop capabilities that gobert could only dream of. Played quite a few positions according to team roster. My favorite position is still as a pf but I do great as a pg as well. While I was a good shot as a sg, I never Developed as a primary option on offense. Although I did have my moments as the only option once I get my chances. Had some of those "can't miss" type of games. Could have been a great all around player but coaching had me concentrate on defense and rebounds.

Didn't live up to the hype?

Did anybody expect JJ Redick to be more in the NBA than what he was?

He's played 15 years and cleared $100,000,000. Peaked at 15-18PPG for several years.

And went to the playoffs all but one season in his career.

And he was the 11th pick. About as good of a career as could be expected from there.

People saying dumb stuff in both threads this morning.
