Regardless of what the Clippers as an organization want to do...

Why would Kawhi leave? He just watched the team he hand-picked push a Conference Finals to 6 games in a series he didn't play in.

Whether or not the Clips want to max him out on a number of years might be another story - but I don't see another option for them at this point.

Kawhi Leonard is a different type of dude. Who would have thought he would leave San Antonio? The Spurs were one of the best teams in the league (they won 67 and 61 games in his final two seasons with the Spurs), They had just made the conference finals, he was the face of the franchise and they offered him the supermax... all that and he still walked away from it. On paper he had every reason to stay in San Antonio. That rift with the medical staff (and the subsequent fallout with his teammates and coaches) drove him to leave.

I'm not saying he's leaving but he's not driven by ordinary logic. He wants what he wants and none of us know what that is.

Nobody Knows what Kawhi is going to do & ultimately i think he stays in L.A but Jimmy & Bam in MIA>>>> PG & praying reggie jackson has an out of body experience again. It's worth some real consideration from him.

Clippers have early Bird Rights, so they can give him a starting salary around $10M.

Miami is too fun for Kawhi.

Fool's gold run. Plus Reggie likely getting a bag from somebody else, they don't really have avenues to improve the roster outside of trying to move PG.

Their window isn't completely shut but there's only a sliver of light coming thru now.
Maybe.

Reggie might get a baby bag - but I wouldn't think he's gonna get unreal money. Not at 31.

Is he going to get something significantly more than what the Clips can give him with his early-Bird?

Who knows there's at least 10 teams with significant cap space and not really any marquee free agents. Somebody is going to talk themselves into giving him more than he's probably worth.

Reggie can get like 42mil over 4 years from the clips. I could definitely see another team getting to around 15mil a yr.

Question is would he be willing to give up 20+mil to stay with his boy PG.

They were doing this same thing with Trae not even half a year ago.

The media is so spineless. Trae was getting **** because his teams were not performing well. Now that his team is close to a finals appearance and Luka has yet to win a Series, they wanna forget what they said about trae and talk **** about Luka. Same thing evey year. Look at the White Doc stuff. For over a decade all we heard was how great of a coach he was. As soon as the Mavs get rid of him all the negative stuff comes out. They always wait for **** to hit the fan and then all of sudden they have years and years of **** they never mentioned before

Not having Ibaka ended up being a really big deal for the Clips and it hasn't really been talked about at all. He was 5th on the team in MPG in the regular season. Missed 31 games though and all of the playoffs.

A lot riding on the health of him and Kawhi going forward.

Yeah, it’s weird. He was their biggest off-season acquisition and really brought in to help in the playoffs, but him not playing barely got mentioned by anyone. I guess it was because he missed so much of the season that he was just kind of forgotten about.

He has a player option to return to the Clippers, which I’m assuming he’ll use. Can’t imagine too many people are going to be lining up to sign a guy coming off back surgery.

I ultimately think the team is built better now than they were last year, but health is going to be a big question.

Surgery Ibaka would have been the perfect center fon the 3 teams we played but what are ya gonna do. Injuries happen

The stuff with Rick was around locally for awhile but yeah, the national media never ran with it til he got bounced.

It's silly. They were all *****ing during the Clippers series about how Luka needed more help and they wouldn't pass the ball to KP or the other guys either. Now he's a bad teammate nobody wants to play with.

It's a cycle of stupidity all around.

Dare I say Reddick was the only pure shooter from college to actually stick and be successful?

morrison, McDermott, jimmer, sauce Castillo etc all underwhelming

There are tons and tons of “pure shooters” that stuck and been successful. And they don’t have to be white dudes :lol

You’re a Sixers fan…and Seth Curry is on your team. Cmon man
