Listening to this Simmons/KOC pod and they actually brought up something I hadn't even thought about...

Why didn't we try to put Evan Mobley on Team USA given the lack of American bigs? He's going to be a top 3 pick and played both the U17 and U19 teams. They mentioned Cade too (also played for the U19 team) and said they should've replaced Love and Grant.

Wouldn't have been mad.

Phoenix just did it.

eye am not saying they’re going to win the west but I do think the west is wide open.

Injury circumstance was a huge factor in PHX actually being a serious contender this year. Even with Klay back, Dubs roster is suspect. There's at least 5, maybe 6 teams right now I'd put over GS. Wardell can't play any better I don't think than last season.

I think if it was a normal year where the draft takes place before the Olympics, then it might've been possible. No way I'm playing before signing a NBA contract. Screw patriotism. aepps20 aepps20

Medicine has gotten better, but Klay is coming off not one, but two major leg injuries. Two whole years off.

And I can give more examples of people who haven’t been the same after an Achilles year than people who have. KD is more of an exception than the rule.

steph doesn’t have to play better if Klay is 90% of himself.

lakers got depth issues. Maybe Bron is really declining
Nuggets losing Murray for the year
No one is scared of the jazz
Clippers gotta kawhi’s knee depending on how severe it is. Might lose Reggie to free agency
Suns will be back. Might be lightning in the bottle
Blazers ain’t scaring anyone
Grizz still need time

He's coming off what Boogie basically had, not KD.

With Sleepy Joseph at the helm I root for Mother Russia anyway so no hate.

No doubt having Klay will make the Warriors much better, but just that doesn’t move them into championship contender territory to ME. But if they trade for another star in addition to getting Klay back, that’s another story.

What happened to Paschall? Really thought he was going to continue to be an impact bench player.

I think they need add to the supporting cast as much as they need Klay. Steph, Klay, Dray, Looney, Wiggins, Poole is fine. After that, it falls off a cliff.

wiseman will be a year older. He’s probably getting dealt though.

put some respect on juan toscano Simmons name

Can this work cap wise?

Sixers get: Brogdon & TJ Warren
Pacers get: Simmons

Sixers sign: Kyle Lowry

If the answer is yes, then I'd probably hope that Morey works his magic and gets the #13 pick as well.

What would it take for him to raise his value though? Is he going to all of the sudden start shooting? With his right hand at that?

He's a good player, but he's still a 3rd/4th option. Those types are what other teams are probably going to be willing to give up for him. Especially since he makes so much money.

People are prisoners of the moment. His value is at an all time low. People are also concerned about his shooting and tbh, that's not going to raise his stock much because at most he can be what? a 25% 3 pt shooter on 2 3s a game? That won't change much. What will raise his value is:
  • If he's not a liability on the ft line anymore. That will open up so many doors for him to be aggressive and for his team where coach can actually play him.
  • If he's looking to score. I don't care about shooting 3s as that's a pipe dream. BUT I do think he can be a 20 point scorer in this league. Especially if he can start making free throws. It's pretty clear it's mental right now.
  • If he reminds everyone that he's still the best defender in this league
  • If he's used right, as in a playmaking 4 and not a PG. Brining in a real PG will help with that but that's on the GM and coach.

Also, Morey might play the waiting game for a disgruntled star. Masai got Kawhi for DeRozan. The Nets gave away late 1st round picks for Harden, KG was traded for Al Jefferson, the list can go on...

With that said, there really is no rush to trade him unless Embiid expresses his frustration with him or Clutch will start doing Clutch things.
