🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD 🎾

I don't mind the grey eyelets on my '19s even though it's not an OG detail. Only improvement that I would care about would be the toe box shape and if the materials were much better. In either case, I'm not copping. Too much of a hassle when I like the '19s. I did put in the effort to get rid of my BI 6s from '14 when the '19s came out, but that was such a dramatic improvement in every way; no way I could not cop the '19s.

What a waste. Some OG's look ok with pre-aging (White Cement III's) but not on these.

Looks like they can be easily painted white though, unlike the Cement III's with the back tab situation.

You may be able to use a Magic Eraser to take off the yellow. It's worked for others on prior "pre-aged" shoes.

With breaking my big toe on my larger foot, my size 11s of the '14 & 19 pairs were really snug. So much I couldn't wiggle my big toe (if I can't, my food goes to sleep), so I sold them. I'll DEFINITELY be grabbing these. Maybe even 2 pairs in an 11.5 just to be safe. I can't wait!! 👍👍

Maybe on the toe, but I wouldn't try it on this midsole. I need to see better pics, but it really just looks like it's unpainted.
I doubt it's unpaid specially since egg shell was reported as a part of the color scheme. Regardless I don't think painting it white would be an issue on the midsole at least if it really bothered someone.

In. Last pair I had was the 2015 pair, half size too small though. Love the vintage details. Would appreciate other Agassi worn models to follow suit as well.

So, over the weekend, I got an Instagram message from the one and only Tom Andrich. For those who don't know, Tom is the creator of the iconic "Flaming Tennis Ball" logo. He's a great follow on IG as he posts old design sketches of shoes and Challenge Court stuff from years gone past.

Well, he had done a release of some prints of the Flame Ball last year but the time wasn't right for me to grab a signed copy. Fast forward to Sunday, he did a 3rd printing, and the price was more manageable for me (not to say the prior price was high, it was TOTALLY fair, just when your on LTD due to a medical condition, you count all your pennies, if you get my drift).

Anyhow, I have this coming in a few days.

It will be framed and hung in my garage. I can't wait to finally have a signed copy of the Flame Ball. I honestly put it up there with the Jumpman as one of the most recognizable logos in sports history. Tom also had the Ultramarine/Solar Red print available as well.

Both are amazing, but I gotta go with the Neon Yellow. I still remember vividly watching the 1990 US Open (and scoping out his shoes) that late summer. Actually watched the finals while I was at the local Fire company Family picnic (Dad is a now 70+ year volunteer). While everyone was playing softball, and swimming (it was held at the local swim & racquet club), I was up in the club office watching the final. Even my parents wondered where I went 😂 I wasn't gonna miss that (and for perspective, I just turned 14).

If anyone is interested in one of these, go follow Tom on IG and shoot him a message that you want to get put on the list (if he sold out). Just let him know Jeff (05FordGT) sent you. 👍👍

Oh man I want one!!!

I don’t mind the aged look on these. It’s definitely not for everyone, but the great news is that with the jillion other Lava retros, we’ve all had ample opportunities to own a non-aged pair.

Personally I’m tired of buying the exact same shoe over and over again. Gimme a little twist every now and then. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t mind the age midsole treatment. It’s done correctly on these imo
