🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD 🎾

glad I can cop the Hot Lavas again. I use to kill it on the courts wearing these as a 16 year old punk who thought he was tough back in 1990 (?).

Are these expected to be a somewhat tough cop?

Also, dont flame me since i'm not versed in Yeezy's and can't stand that shoe, but is there a coincidence in the sole's looking the same between the two? I knew the Yeezy sole looked familiar when I first saw that shoe, but couldnt put the two together until now.

That poison green pair though. :smokin

the air feezy indeed copied the legendary ATC 2 midsole

i've liked the lavas ever since i seen my older cousin wearing them when i was a kid.. i finally got them in 08, but wore them to a concert and they got destroyed

so these are a must for me

i think i even brought my cousin out of retirement, because i posted about these on fb the other day, and dude hit me up immediately asking if these were really realeasing again, and that he wants to get a pair

Yeezy's are kinda like a hybrid, not exactly, but elements of other Nike models are used in creating the design of the Yeezys.

The first one had the Jordan 3 sole, the 2nd ones these soles.

You mean the Nike Revolution soles. The soles from most early Js came out somewhere else first.

Yeah brah I know about the reusing to sole that went on back then.

But Yeezy didn't pick that sole for the shoes because of the Revolutions.

And if I say the "sole of the Revolutions" or sole of the "Flight 89s" it wouldn't click for most people. But if I mention the 3s or 4s, then there will more of a chance that it clicks for them

I swear there is no hype for this shoe anywhere on the internet besides this thread lmao. This shoe is too plain for the beasts. Relax already.

No hype maybe because the USA release is still so far away perhaps.. Wait till release week then it could be a different story

There's hype strictly for the fact it's been stated they're a QS. These will not sit nor be available at the end of release day watch :{

If it is, it's because you dudes want it to be.

Not every QS flies of the shelves, there's no reason to go into a panic over this one.

All you guys are doing is telegraphing your moves to someone who is looking for a quick flip.

Keep calm and your shoes will be there waiting for you.

@SinnerP  Marc dolce posted a pic of Andre wearing OG's on his IG- I stated the retro wouldve been better with OG sole.

He replied on one of my pics that the sole was Andre was wearing was the same- as the retro and it was a pro model.

My eyes aren't that good- but any chance its true?
Sorry, I'm late to the party... but it looks like pdizzz & KB24's covered it.

As pdizzz mentioned in this thread a few weeks ago, these PE's did exist back in the day with Mac and Wheaton (I think it was?) wearing them.  And who knows, maybe Andre wore them in some matches (I honestly don't know), but for me, from a sentimental aspect, the matches I watched of him were in the OG's and the ones I had were OG's... which was what mattered to me.

This is what I have been saying. If you live in the area of the 3 grand slams released so far it was a pretty easy cop. Even in NYC Nikestore had a few pairs left the next day. Asked someone to check, none in my range of sizes. These shoes have like 3 week production dates in some tags. I know my tag and the tag for the wimbledon's I got for Bad Lieutenant differed. 3 week production tags and they are selling out slower than mass produced signature basketball shoes. Huaraches only sold out because resellers thought they'd be on a come up. They can't even get rid of these at retail on ebay. Besides the Lavas and grand slams they will all sit. Even the grand slams will be easy cops for people who live in the area of release.

Cheers @SinnerP  -I'm with you and I'd say most others who were around when these were originally released feel the same way.

I did question Dolce as to whether it was a conscious decision to put this sole on or simply a way of using up excess midsoles, yet heard no reply.

Anyway, if it were a deliberate move- it is damn strange nike didnt market it as such- OG PE retro would have been a great angle.

Please just release a normal version of the atc iv.

The use of a different sole didn't bother me much in the first place, and bothers me even less now that Dolce has clarified it was used on the pro model.

I actually think it looks better. And I say that as a 30+ dude who remembers that era well.

Yea I really only remember Andre wearing the released Huarache's but it's possible he wore the other pair before. I'm surprised there's not more pics floating around of his shoes from the 92 US Open. I do think that the air tech addition to the shoe makes it look better. As far as people not really feeling the shape of the shoe, the og was similar to that as well. I know he wore the regular pair in Wimbledon 92 but with the grip sole for the grass.

Yeah, I would have rather they took that route.

But this better not be a sign of things to come should they retro the IV.  I guess, optimistically speaking, now they don't have an excuse for getting the outsole wrong on those.

Late to the party, wasn't expecting to see an Agassi thread but glad I found it! Definitely ready for these Lava's to drop

They'll figure out a way to destroy those too.  Probably change the nike font on the side to a swoosh or something equally as egregious.
