🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD 🎾

One to wear, another pair to keep on ice (incoming).  I have no issues with quality on these, they're great in my eyes.  I think the gold/brown quilted lining is just the icing on the cake with these, real nice touch.

SNS just sold out again

Tracking is showing that both pairs will be delivered today.  Can't wait for Turbo Green and Hot Lava!

I guess no one knows the ETA for nike store europe? girl seen em and wants a pair.. lol

The Hot Lava was a revelation, even as street-level kicks. The III's and especially the IV's never recaptured that. ATC II is a God-tier kick. Up with the likes of Jordan III and AF1.
Not disagreeing. I only knew of these kicks during the 2008 retro but they instantly became top 3 silhouettes for me. I'm just saying...... I actually knew of the IIIs before I knew of the IIs but I thought they were the Is.

Im just surprised that the IIIs and IVs aren't up there with.... idk.... the Jordan VII and VIIIs. The two Jordans(1-13) you would likely only notice on people's feet if you knew sneakers. Instead, every time I have seen someone with the IIIs on, its "IDK what these are I just liked the sneakers". Nothing wrong with that, just surprised more people dont like the sneakers because they like the specific line.
I agree with J0e on this... the Lavas were definitely revolutionary, while the 3's, 4's, etc were all evolutionary.  Don't forget, this was how Nike marketed the ATC 1's & 2's back then... about "waking up the country club" & "proper tennis attire"...

After that, it was more about seeing what Nike was gonna come up with next, knowing that they were gonna go with loud designs.

As to whether the 3's or 4's could be more significant... maybe.  This is just me, but I like to associate the kicks to how a player performed during that year.  For Agassi, he reached the 1990 US Open & 1991 Roland Garros finals in the 3's.  I think for that, it stuck in the minds of many people... seeing him in the Hot Lime outfit vs Sampras at the USO and the Voltage Purple outfit vs Courier at the RG.  Yeah, he lost both of those, but they were still finals.

As for the 4's... it's a bit odd as he didn't have the best season.  Yeah, he won a few Davis cup matches in that year (1991), but lost in the first-round of the USO... so in that sense, it wasn't very memorable.  Doesn't change the fact that I love the design though.

STILL on the fence re Kumquats..

That off-white leather and horror stories from some of you who got them about the poor quality is keeping me at bay.
