🎾 Official Nike Tennis (and other brands as well) Thread 🎾

Was watching this the other night and kept thinking how much of a missed opportunity that he isn't wearing ATCs
Maybe he's aware that those shoes are not a performance shoe for todays game and made the smart move to protect his joints considering the obvious overweight he have and he still in some way play (pickeball) So no, nostalgia is not enough to wear a shoe that a lot of people buy just because is "Retro" and he still endorse what the brand have at the moment

Nike got lazy as usual after the first Rafa top. Purple with orange contrast. Now every shirt is a solid. I know there is texture to the shirt but a little contrast would help. The first pics of the aster pink shirt with the white sleeve cuffs and collar were so much better imo

To be honest, who cares as Rafa will probably never play in it
And the USO 2024 collection as a whole is disappointing

I can care less tbh. I haven’t bought any Rafa shirts in a year since I’m not interested as much as I used to. I would buy some shorts here and there but that’s pretty much it.

Also nothing to diss to you but I find it odd if I saw a 50+ year old guy wearing a whole Rafa get up on the courts. I mean if you could pull it off, props to you but most of the time it doesn’t add up

Damn, is Nike 2024 a lost year for Tennis?
Nothing really calls out, other than that cool US Open all black tank.
Nike really needs to have the golf department design the tennis line. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been a Nike guy my whole tennis life and now only wear the socks and Vapor 11s. Been wearing Lacoste or Polo for shirt and shorts.

I’m just talking about the designs. Not a 50 year old guy pulling off a whole Rafa outfit

Right? I had to switch to regular Nike running shorts and shirts for tennis.
I just want some nice clean pieces, like that US Open tank baby.
That being said, I'm not a big fan of wearing tanks during tennis. Last time I tried, I got my shoulders absolutely BAKED.

I would also like if they came back and made some tennis bags.

One could assume that the Mac Attacks arent exactly performance for todays game either but look at Johnny Mac go.

Did you see the big difference in his belly compared to JMac??? Maybe the black does a really good job and in your eyes the obvious is not noticiable and can still see a good use for a shoe with 30+ years (speculating here) in a performance aspect. Great for Andre to keep playing and be wise in choosing the equipment that suit him ATM and not use something just purely based on nostalgia...

You realistically think J.Mac could play modern tennis and grind out with them? I wouldn’t think so. Same goes for the ATC, the tennis shoes of yesterday are today’s casual shoes and nothing more.
exactly my point - while eyes are on these guys, could be cool to see these legends wear something for the event but of course it's just a missed opportunity.

The more the years go by, the more I have the feeling that many people are disappointed by the designs of the collections. Even though I have created my own brand now, I 'm still a Nike tennis addict, so I follow the news and indeed I find that there is a cruel lack of creativity in recent years...
I also think it's difficult to reinvent yourself, to use new colors, but this problem is not only present at Nike.
It’s been a long time since I said “Whaoow!” in front of a tennis collection, and that's a shame.

See I actually prefer tanks when I play tennis bc it allows my shoulders for better movement and just overall feels "looser" than playing in shirts with sleeves. Thats why I like the old USO Rafa kits so much, especially his 2019 kit, that was great.
But, I do like the Alcaraz black tank top, it's def clean, but just so plain. It's basically a black tank top with a Nike logo slapped on front.
Very lazy imo from Nike. Seems nowadays al they do is slap their logo on a generic t shirt or tank top and say to us "heres our new collection!" ......and it's all very plain.
Both the French and USO collections this year were letdowns.

Not a fan of Osaka's kit this year? Supposedly its a special collabo with Yoon Ahn.

Nah not really, and I am more interested in the men's line bc that's what i would potentially wear haha.

Also, I have not seen anything yet on the Vaport court 12's. Are they supposed to come out soon? Why are you saying they are a return to form?

Someone who has access to future Nike stuff peeped the Vapor 12's and said he was "super excited" for the release.
He mentioned they were on track for release next year around April I think.
