🎾 Official Nike Tennis (and other brands as well) Thread 🎾

Definitely remember both. I always wanted a pair of the Air Max2 Sweep.

Did they actually sell them to the general public? I don't remember ever seeing them on shelves.

Yes, both were available

I wasn't comparing them on a legacy or endorsement basis. You stated they were boring but the Oscillates are the perfect example of boring....as was all of Pete's gear. He's still one of my favorite players of all time but the guy was strictly business on the court. Nothing wrong with that at all.

As far as I remember, Courier was the only big name that wore the Resistance. I remember my pops was happy cause they were the only shoe that didn't deteriorate from my toe dragging when I was playing juniors.
Nothing wrong with that at all!  I personally don't find them boring, but I'm just saying in terms retros that kids look at nowadays, they want the more well-known, flashy stuff.  To us, it's a great throwback to 90's tennis, but to them, it'll just be "boring old man tennis shoes".  It's a bit of a shame, really.

Makes me wonder how Kevlar will hold up against current-day tennis "Drag-On" technology.

Air Max2 Sweep... didn't that shoe have a magazine ad that showed a cross-section of a tennis court... underneath were all sorts of soft items... mattresses, pillows, cotton, feathers, teddy bears... Lol.

Do you know if resell will keep dropping or if it'll increase? I'd like to keep my aj3 vapors and possibly sell them later but if the price keeps dropping I might just sell now
Your typical Jordan fan doesn't care about Fed. Your typical Fed fan doesn't care about Jordan.

There's a pretty limited appeal with them. And the only reason they have any sort of value is because they were somewhat limited. Fed didn't win the US Open in them. Me personally I was a huge MJ fan growing up, and Fed is my favorite tennis player, and I'd absolutely love to have both pairs. But I wasn't able to get them at release and am not going to pay ridiculous resale for them. I believe that the longer I wait the price will come down to basically retail because there's just not that much demand for them.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just my opinion.

I think Van-Nostrand is right on! I'm a big fan of both as well, but probably in the minority... The prices in Europe seem to be even lower for both the white and black versions... I picked up a second pair of the black ones for under $300 shipped from Europe two weeks ago.

Also, kudos to posters in this thread and the Agassi retro. Its great to see people exchange great info and share memories, such a nice change from the JB forum where i spend most my time.

I'll try to get more up later today. I have a bunch of these saved on my desktop. I always wanted a pair of the Air Max2 Sweep but never saw them in person (at least not in youth sizes)

Can't find pics right now but there was another air max 2 that Looked similar to the flares That's one that deserves a retro...

About 1996 (more or less I think) I had a pair of Nike tennis shoes with the air max. They were not the AirMax2 Sweep, they were completely white, full grain leather.I can't remember the name, but they were really nice ( If I remember correctly Albert Costa and/or Richard Krajicek were wearing them too).

Might have been the Sweep's successor, Air Max2 Spa

The Swoosh on the Oscillate's heel pulls from the Sweep's orientation, beautiful.

Not the best pic, but these?

They were similar to the ones in the second picture, but completely White (also the swoosh was White).  Not sure if the heel was also White or light navy (the thing I remember it was that after those I am pretty sure I bought the oscillates)

These are dope bro. This is such an amazing thread.

Did the Vapor Zoom 9.5 Tour Legend really sellout?

I cant seem to locate any sizes (specifically sz 9.5)... nothing on NDC, Midwest or Tennis Warehouse. i liked the shoe, but not for $200.

just surprised the inventory went that quick.

That is strange, but I doubt they sold out. That colorway + the price tag isn't really a great combo.

The Nadal pairs are still up on NDC. I was thinking maybe they pulled both of them in hopes that they could build a little hype for the Open but that theory was shot down.

Fed wasn't wearing them at the NikeCourt event so I don't think they'd be getting any extra hype from that. Shrug.

^I should not have slept on safaris :/

guessing they'll pop back up somewhere

It's these all over again. Only way you could make a color way like this and sell it is if you make it limited.

Just got my Safari's in. For me, they are TTS. This shoe was a steal for $116. Here's just a quick shot.

:smokin

Mine are in transit - excited to hear they look good, when I ordered them I figured they were a shoe that needed to be seen to decide to keep or not.
