🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Drake & PND Album Fall 2024

Drake a lil *****

Wana talk all that macho **** in a arena like if he would even be down to square up wit meek, but then use as much police as he can to his advantage.

Straight sucka.

Aimt nothin hard or respectable about a man runnin his mouth and then runnin on feet afterwards. What was the point of talkin down if you aint gona do nothin but record music?!
Rappers literally do this all the time, especially Meek Mill

ask Meek.

Honestly I don't even know HOW Young Money is still even a thing. I know Drake/Nicki probably locked in for a long time but YM is a bad look at this point, somebody gotta be able to get them out those contracts

I think people are coming at Drake for getting help on verses and not his hooks.

No one cares if you get hook help.

People pick and choose what "help" they care about. But, like I said, take the hooks out of the argument and Hov still took lines from other rappers habitually back in the day. Imo, that doesn't discredit his body of work. He's Hov for Christ sake. But people are willing to discredit Aubrey like he's the first successful person to violate this unwritten law in hip hop.

Son you comparing Jay using BIG lines here and there as to Drake having dudes write verses and songs. :lol That doesn't add up.

If that's the case then Beyonce having writers is the same as what Jay does. :lol

Rosenberg killing Drake for his background, calling him an actor, saying he ain't tough etc. But that's who Drake has always been.

It's funny though, how when Drake first popped he was slurping him up, and told him Hip-Hop depended on him.

Now since Drake be curving Rosenberg, and "not responding to his DM's" he ain't Hip-Hop, he ain't a rapper, yadayadayada, but when Drake first popped he was singing a completely different tune about the same guy.

To be honest I have nothing against drake and his background either, that shouldn't even be an issue. It's not like drake is talking tough for no reason, he's trying to bury a man who tried to end his career last year. I can't really knock that..

Everything Rosenberg said was 100% true, but Drake stans won't see it that way. Everytime Drake disses Meek they snicker and giggle. When Meek responds back they wonder why he's still trying.

Like I said a few pages back, what we're seeing with Drake is unprecedented in Hip Hop. We've NEVER seen a rapper with this much evidence (call it what you want, I couldn't give two *****) against him when it comes to these ghostwriter/stealing songs claims. Never. This guy has **** going against him at every phase of his career. THAT is the damning part imo. So yea, help is help. But not when you got Ns claiming to write **** for you going alllllllll the way back to your first mixtape, and force feeding you flows and deliveries since then. What part of Hip Hop is that man? Again, you all keep making excuses and justifying that.

Name me one other rapper right now who could get away with that without getting clowned?

Not once have I made any excuse for Drake. I acknowledge dude is deserving of the harsh critiques for relying on a ghostwriter. But, if this idea that help is help is true, then cats are willfully turning a blind eye to it when someone they favor is guilty of it as well. Jay took BARS from people like Big, Snoop, etc. That gets overlooked and he's hailed as the God MC to this day, which is cool with me. But don't front like he doesn't have what some may consider a neg under his belt.

And again, there are ghostwriters out there speaking up about who they've helped. Hell, in this case, people said Meek got mad because QM wouldn't write for him. That **** has to be more prevalent than what you all would like to believe.

Regardless of what you say you're low (high) key trying to compare situations that aren't even close to comparable.

Rosenberg is right but it's funny seeing him call somebody else soft. :lol Rosenberg is the biggest moonwalker/apologizer out there. The messenger is all wrong.

I mean, Rosenberg is calling Drake "soft" because he didn't grow up like Meek Mill...Really? I know plenty of ****** who aren't "soft" that grew up middle class.

Is Meek's music any more "real" because Drake wasn't Poor growing up?

Rosenberg literally said Meek's music was realer than Drake's because he has a real story. As if Drake's story isn't real either? It may not be the same, but it's just as real.

Just a lot of regurgitated bs regarding Drake's image that surprisingly, still hasn't died. It's always been weird to me to call another man soft that you don't know.

This is actually a real issue that trickles over to some of our youths real life thought process. But that's another topic.

Again, I never tried to make this a matter of which infraction is worse. You're argument is basically comparable to arguing whether a speeding ticket is on par with a murder charge. You guys going for the NT extremes early on this one. :lol

It's really crazy that the guy who raps and sings honestly about his life is killed for being soft, meanwhile, the guy who raps about him and his crew doing all this work in the street and has this street aesthetic and image to him is praised.

Like, is Drake really soft because he wasn't poor, was an actor, and is like, light skin or something idk? It's just always been silly to me that people called Drake soft for that reason.

I mean Jay used Ice t's 99 Problems line and he used Bun B's "Now once upon a time, not too long ago / A n**ga like myself had to strong arm a h*e" line and it's still not the same as having a team of writers.

It's really just a drake hater thing Kanye not from the ghetto and sings and Cole lightskin and wasn't a good broke no one calls them soft tho

You guys are still going at this do you guys really think the weeknd was writing drakes raps? He gave him 2 songs and crew love didn't know that was half of a 20 track album

Shot for me
Crew Love
Doing it wrong
Good ones interlude
The Ride (laid vocals over a weekend loop)
All the songs I do not listen to.
But drake hasn't giving us a hip hop album tho

Exactly. This fixation on "what's real" in Hip-Hop (and black culture as a whole is stupid.)

Like, To prefer Meek over Drake is cool, it's all preference at the end of the day.

But to call Meek's music "realer" than Drake's and to say Meek has "a story" and Drake doesn't, shows a clear allegiance and bias to a certain image that you associate and Identify w/ Hip-Hop and with Rap Music, all of which is clear as day with Rosenberg when it comes to Drake.

And if we keeping it a buck, performing a grammy nominated diss record about you, in your city, is about as "real" and as "Hip-Hop" as you can get. Dissing the radio station that tried to end you, in their city, is as "real" as it can get.

I've heard a lot of negatives about Hovs career over the years and even agreed with some (especially that corny euro HOV nonsense :{ ). Today is honestly the first day I've ever seen someone refer to him as getting/needing help with his raps
