🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Drake & PND Album Fall 2024

lol I always thought that was a dumb argument. Why would he need to replace songs for something to be a classic...

Dreams money can buy is dreams money can buy. A stand alone track that was amazing but let that be that.

Why does that need to be on the album for it to be classic? That's like saying damn Kendrick shoulda kept his verse for ****** problems and put it on GKMC and it woulda been classic

Every song on take care is legit enough to stand on its own. Even make me proud to marvins room...people still quoting stuff from those songs on the gram  I thought a classic was something that stands the test of time...take care as an album is hardly forgotten.

IMO there were some pieces that made Take Care feel 'un-classic'

The popular opinion is swapping Over My Dead Body with DMCB

Make Me Proud with Free Spirit and

adding Club Paradise...

If you were to play that album 10 years from now with those songs swapped out...it'd have a better overall sound/feel IMO

I realized years ago Drake will never drop a classic album due to appeasing to people who want different things from him

Some want him to quit singing and strictly rap
Some want him to only do hype tracks on trap-esque beats
Some want him to strictly sing
& some want the beat change, 40 dipping the track in holy water type songs
Speaks to his versatility

Speaks to his versatility

It also speaks to him just being comfortable and doing the easy ****.

I don't see why him and his writers can't do a album with 3 radio singalongs, 7 of the what ever time in where ever types, 3 R&B joints. Ain't like his fan base would leave him, these stans love him.

I mean push HIS boundaries as a creative. I'm not talking about just subject matter or quality. I'm speaking creatively overall. He's been too reliant on the same formula. I referenced Kanye as an example who has albums that are radically different from one another. Or even Kendrick.
I think IYRTITL pushed his boundaries a bit. It had brand new flows and sounds, but I agree I'd be interested to hear him go further.

I actually was going to mention that project as one that seemed like he just went in and created without trying to stick to any formulas. Some consider that "trap drake" but I actually liked how he switched it up.

Cut it out, ain't nothing classic about Take Care.

I think it's time for him to push the boundaries a bit. He's never taken any risks. One of the things that made Kanye great is that every album was a reinvention for better or worse. For the most part Drake has played it safe. His music is starting to sound template based. Even "fake love" sounds like they went into the studio and hit "drake template #5" and that's what came out.
He has pushed the boundaries in ways. He opened the game for a different type of subject matter,  the singing and rapping combo
Didn't Andre 3000 & Kanye do this first?

And Victor Paige is right. He's on autopilot right now.

That's because so far gone was an album guised as a mixtape. He was signed to young money/cash money at the time and they funded it.

This is wrong

Although he was signed to tez who obviously had close ties to Cash Money, he was not signed to CM/YM at the time

He was signed to Aspire, tez''s management company who funded the project and put BIEH on radio

Big Amount verse might be my favorite anything he's ever spit tbh

I wish that boy would stop singin man. At least a mixtape of Big Amount/Sneak Dissin/Digital Dash/Hype type tracks.

More life Dec 24th. Over half of it is rap

More Life slated to have 30 songs

This is what was going to be CS2. This was the mixtape he was talking about that he was working on while on tour.

Hopefully no push backs or changes

This is true.. Jas Prince had to sue over this.

I agree, it's the same formula for his entire career at this moment. Make an album that's literally half rap/half singing, only this time he sprinkled in a little dancehall vibes. (Which to his credit wasn't a popular sound at all with rap artists before Drake started doing it.)

Then he drops mixtapes (more life, if you're reading this) to satisfy the rap fans but makes sure to distinguish it as a mixtape, because he knows where the real money at lol

30 songs :wow: damn this ***** tryna have us listening the forever

Views tracks still in rotation and even some from IYRTITL .

I really hope on the playlist we get a party x drake banger and a party x drake x dvsn collab. These OVO collabs NEEEED to happen already :smh:

More Party x majid is also desperately needed. "Don't know how" is flames :smokin one of his best songs.
