It did have a calm R&B feel to it. I guess if that's what some people want to call dark so be it. When I think about dark albums I think about DMX's stuff or some old 3-6.

You guys are just arguing over what your definition of the word "dark" is.  Some of you mean it to be literally rapping about devil worship, murder, and drugs, and some of you (Ginfante) means stuff that sounds like night time -- slow, understated, etc.

You're both right.  A lot of the topics were bright and happy, but there's no question songs like Marvin's room are sonically dark.

Not true, it dropped a a bit before the album, before Tyga got on it...Marvins Room dropped that summer...so your point is?

Didn't literally mean a few days. It dropped like November 1st, 2 weeks before the album which is why it was a bonus track.

However, that has nothing to do with the fact that Take Care is labeled as a "dark" album when in actuality it isn't.

I can see how some songs could be perceived to be dark. Good ones Go, Marvin's Room, Shot for Me, The Real Her, Cameras, DMCB, and a few others and you aren't alone. A lot of people feel the same way as you in regards to Take Care.

However, for me, it's unfairly cited as a dark, sad, and soft album.

I was talking more about their production. To give another example Kid Cudi's MOTM 2 is dark, the production on Take Care is not dark IMO.
