I haven't been able to watch much, but they said he's been out there dominating dudes in blocking drills...

He's the goods... I can't believe he didn't have a bigger year production-wise at Okie State...

What do you expect when Zac 1st, 2nd and 3rd Read were Dez, Dez and Dez...

Nah, but it was obvious Pettigrew had the skills. I, like you, never really understood why he didn't get the rock enough.

Zac did lock onto Dez somethin serious... But who couldblame him?

They'd have been better served spreading the ball around more, but Pettigrew did fight injuries some throughout the year, so maybe that's got somethingto do with it...

Pettigrew was hurt

That's what bogged that O down. ( If u can call it that)

They woulda been unreal with him at 100%

I like what Michigan is looking to close with. Some very good rumblings about what the staff is doing on the road this week. Making lots of noise in recruitshomes. If we could add another outside WR like Stokes, and a corner and another safety I would be real happy. Adding to that an OL and a DE and I might try anddo a backflip.

Plus, some kids should be dropping for the 2010 class pretty soon. Having a true spring game at the Big House with some dope add-ons being worked on shouldhelp a ton with Juniors. I could see the 2010 class at 10 commits after that weekend.

I think Michigan is going to get another Florida QB with Rich-Rod working on Denard Robinson and his teammate Adrian Witty.
What happened with the South Florida QB who signed with Michigan last year?

Apparently Cliff Harris is ready to announce (according to Scout.com). Any news on when that's gonna be?

Saturday. Everyone says he's gonna pick UO but it sounds like he's likely to not qualify, though that 'likely' is like 55%. I think histeammate Jefferson, who's just as highly regarded, is going JC.

I'd be curious to know if anyone that's deep into the recruiting scene knows anything about this RB Ethan Grant we got out of South Florida for the2010 class. I've seen a couple guys online say he's more of UCF/FIU type of player but this piece from ESPN right here says Florida St. offered himverbally as a cornerback.

Oregon lands 2010 commitment

Oregon picked up a 2010 commitment from one of the fastest players in the Southeast over the weekend. Ethan Grant (Coconut Creek, Fla./ North Broward) visitedEugene unofficially over the weekend and committed to the Ducks while on his visit.

"Yep, he just texted me and told me he's a Duck," Stewart's uncle Ricardo said. "He said he loved it there and can't wait to suit upfor Oregon. Florida State gave him a verbal offer but they wanted him for defensive back and Oregon wants to use him the way Florida used Percy Harvin and thatwas exciting to him."

Grant has explosive speed and has been clocked from anywhere in the 4.2-4.3 range in the 40.

"He works out with Terrell Buckley and was recently clocked at a 4.21 laser time," Ricardo said. "He ran a 4.3 just a few weeks ago wearingregular school clothes. He's going to the NIKE Combine in March and I have a feeling he's going to do something pretty special."

Grant will be coming home Monday from his trip to Eugene and I'll have more from him on why he chose the Ducks."

He's got a video here : http://www.elitescoutings...ocoverage/ethangrant.html

I can kind of see why all the FL schools didn't jump on him officially starting in the winter, he's got serious wheels but he looks a little slight. Idon't think it's really going to be a matter of whether he'll have the raw ability to succeed at the next level, it's just going to be whetherhe can put enough weight on that frame.

All I know, is that if Chip Kelly recruited him (which he did) then I'm alright with it. Kelly knows his system and what guys will thrive init. Recruiting websites can only do so much when it comes to evaluating talent. Quizz Rodgers is one example. I trust a coaches evaluation more than anyrecruiting website.

after losing an in state kid, Deuce Finch, to Boston College...we got a commitment from Donald Russell, a running back from Florida. any of you Floridiansknow anything about him?

As of yesterday it looks like JeRon will be a Wolverine. The problem is, as many have stated, he is at Illinois this weekend. Never count out the Zooker. A lotof PA insiders thought that PSU would be the ultimate fight with Michigan for him and he just dropped them. Should be interesting to see if he makes the callthis weekend. Wouldn't mind getting his brother Malik a 2010 QB as well.

The QB from FLA last year was Justin Feagin. Got some run in the Minnesota game last year and looked pretty good running the ball. Had a 30+yard run. I do notknow if he is going to get another shot at QB or if they have permanently moved him to WR. That was the talk last year was that he had already been moved toWR. He doesn't really have the arm strength IMO to be an adequate QB. I feel the same way with Denard and think he will be a corner next year.

Tate Forcier is apparently doing good things with the workouts with WRs this winter. He is a stud throwing while on the run. He better be with the garbage OLplay we had last year.

Devon Kennard set to announce on Tuesday... Texas, Cal, or USC ... Any word on which way he's leaning?

Gotta believe Kennard is goin to USC, would be shocked otherwise. He is considered by many scouts as the possible #1 overall recruit in the nation - if itweren't for injuries his senior year. Any one on here an insider on rivals or scout? Which way is Jelani Jenkins leaning, I'm hearing it is down tothe Gators and PSU. Really hoping the Gators get him

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Tajh Boyd is announcing between Ohio State, Oregon, and Clemson on Monday.

In the end, that's all that matters...getting players that fit your system. Player development is a much, much more important factor than howstars a recruit has. I like to use Texas A&M as an example of this...we consistently have top 25 recruiting classes (usually around top 15-20), yetwe're always mediocre at best. If you don't have coaches that know what to do once they get these kids, it doesn't matter who you get. And withthousands and thousands of high school kids playing football, it's all too easy for these recruiting sites to overlook and/or underrate/overrate a lot ofkids. You can't really blame them though, that's gotta be a pretty tough job. Factor in that the websites are looking at all of the kids in the nation, and a school takes a serious look at around 100 (that may be too high or too low, I don't really know...), and you gotta kinda trust your coaches on whatthey're doing (as long as they don't have a reputation of swinging and missing consistently).

Sorry for that long #$* paragraph, but here are some other rumblings I've heard...
-Kevin Brent (4* DB out of Dallas, TX) might not qualify at OU.
-There are rumors that he will have a LSU and a Texas A&M LOI in front of him come signing day. But then again, there is also a rumor on one of the LSUboards that Loston has enrolled at a private school in Louisiana for his last semester of high school...good way to get around having to pass the TAKS test tograduate high school...Anyone got anymore info on this? This seems a little shady...
-Dexter Pratt (4* ATH out of Navasota, TX) has backed out of his commitment to LSU and has committed to OK State. That's a very good get for OK State.
-Jonathan Stewart (4* LB out of Shreveport, LA) is committed to Texas A&M, but supposedly had a very good in-home visit with Coach Tedford from Cal.

I know Kennard is looking at Cal because they want him to be a 3-4 rush OLB for them. I can't blame him for looking. Kid has talked about being a DeMarcusWare type player to some people. But the problem is, when Cheat Carroll wants a kid to come to USC, they usually do so. The guy gets it done.
