'09 COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFF-SEASON THREAD-recruiting/Coaching Changes/Transfers

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Jacksonville State quarterback Ryan Perrilloux has been suspended for the season opener at Georgia Tech for violating team rules.

The infraction was not the result of "any legal circumstances and is strictly a violation of the strict guidelines he came here under," coach Jack Crowe said Friday in a statement.

Perrilloux transferred to Jacksonville State before last season. Once one of the nation's top recruits, he had been kicked off LSU's national championship team for a string of issues that included skipping classes, missing a team meeting and arriving late for conditioning workouts.

He passed for 2,318 yards and 19 touchdowns last season. Crowe said Perrilloux would return to the starting job against Florida State in the second game.

"We have not made a different set of rules for Ryan," Crowe said. "He has the same consequences as any one of our players and there is very little room for error. I do not think this is a reflection of his accountability since he has been here. Our fans do not need to assume more than it is, which is a team rule.

"Since the incident, Ryan has demonstrated his responsibility to this team and this university. I expect this to just be a one-time incident."

Sophomore Marques Ivory is expected to start against the Yellow Jackets.

good he will be back to pull of the upset VS F$U

Looks like the Kyle Prater commitment is a lock. SC just called Kenny Stills and told him they're wrapping up @ WR for 2010:

"Then this week after Robert Woods committed, I talked to the coaches and they said they didn't have room for me. They're supposed to be getting Kyle Prater and they just wanted to take two receivers in this class. They told me they have enough guys at my position and were going in a different direction.
SC's closing early cause they're saving a spot for George Farmer next year

The UCLA marketing department has since softened its approach, mostly because of a review committee that Athletic Director Dan Guerrero had to create to approve all future campaigns. Still, a new promotion offers any fan "who by $100+ official merchandise (Aug. 22-28) at the UCLA store, UCLA Store Tent at the Fall Scrimmage will receive two complimentary general admission tickets," to the California game on Oct. 17.

Looking beyond the fact that the review committee missed the "by/buy" typo, the UCLA-California game is usually a big seller. But these are hard economic teams, the proof being that California's team is busing to the game.

We see it every year... So which team falls the furthest and finishes the season outside the Top 25?

Alabama seems like a potential one, just because of the QB issues... But they played in a BCS game with JPW, and after VT the schedule looks about as favorableas you could hope in the SEC...

I keep looking at Georgia too...

that's weird, I don't see miami anywhere in the top 25.

a surprise unofficial visit, Florida commitment and four star defensive back Victor Hampton from Charlotte, NC was in attendence for the scrimmage.

former Miami tight end Daniel Adderley is going to come to Tennessee. Adderley is going to walk-on and will redshirt this year as his transfer year and will have 2 to play 2. He is expecting to get to the practice field Monday or Tuesday.

Cane heads, is this guy even any good? or just a roster filler...

daniel garbage......dude was destined to finish his career on the bench......i would be shocked if he made an impact....

That's exactly what you tried to do when you were charging the 9.95 for updates.
