'09 COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFF-SEASON THREAD-recruiting/Coaching Changes/Transfers

Oregon with a top 25 class...

Not too shabby. It looked like a pretty weak class a few days ago.

UM will always be stacked at those positions.

Those are Fla, specifically So. Fla specialties.

Not hate. Anybody that says he is not a good football player is mentally ******ed. People are really questioning if he will suit up for ND or takehis mission which he has been adamant about. Te'o is gonna be a good one down the line, but i hope he takes his mission and goes elswhere. Do not want anypart of him when ND plays Michigan.

Freshman that will play for the Gators next year:
Jelani Jenkins will be in the rotation and special teams
Dee Finley will be in the safety rotation
Josh Evans special teams
Gary Brown DT roatation
Andre Dubose will probably start at slot WR

Meyer said he doesn't plan on red-shirting players but I'm sure some of the Olineman and Jordan Reed will redshirt.

He already said that he is taking his mission after his freshman year..

"I'm up for the challenge," Te'o said. "I've always been someone to blaze my own trail. I think it's going to be a great opportunity, a great experience, and a learning experience as well. I'm excited."

Te'o said although he plans to spend four years at Notre Dame, he would take his two-year mission after his freshman year with the Irish. He said it is something he's already discussed with the coaches and something that was emphasized by him and his parents during the recruiting process. It was Weis' support of Te'o's mission that helped Te'o make his final decision.

And ur crazy if you don't think he's going to see the field next year as a freshman... I'm not worrying, i think he's Irish allthe way..

And Chris Martin, 5* DE for 2010 verbally committed to ND today too.. i don't know if anybody has mentioned it in here yet...

But dont count on this staying true, i highly doubthe ends up going to Notre Dame, but ima talk 2 him bout it. Last time i talked to him he was really feelin USC, but he wasnt tryna redshirt anywhere. I thinkhe's gonna end up elsewhere tho.

. It was surprising, but a strong class is still coming in. We will see who will line up alongsideGallippo.

Still a Top 5 class, can't be mad about that.

Yeah because 2 of your teams signed 30+ players. Thats not even right. Also, how the hell does Bama sign 59 players in 2 years? Thats as manyscholly players as Michigan had on its damn team this past year. Signing over 30 players is a jopke because you know 5+ arent gonna make it in.

Ole Miss getting 37 commits is a tradegy. Must have a bunch of Jerrell Powes on that team. 5 out of 6 years they have signed more than 25 players with 3 yearsover 30.

. Those mugs are dumb as rocks that they recruit.

That's why they got Massie.

I swear dude wasn't gonna even get into community college til Ole Miss took him.

Hmmm CLK said on two different interviews he has another teague/nukeese - like surprise on offense coming.
JJ or BB maybe? ... Got me wondering.

He also said nu'keese was the best skill player the staff saw on film and that's why they went hard after him.
Said if things move along well, Teague will play wherever he can get on the field the fastest, Offense or Defense

Ole Miss got like 15 of those offers slotted for juco n prrep school

Both of you are WRONG, the reason why we sign so many is because so many players want to play for Coach Nutt and they are willing to either spenda year at Hargrave or take a greyshirt. Yes there is maybe 2 players that will probably end up at JC but that won't be determined until close to summer sojust incase a guy doesn't qualify we don't take a serious hit on the depth chart because we can bring a guy in that we were going to sign and place orgreyshirt. You'd be suprised also of how many players decide to take a partial schol. for abt a year just to get into to the program also.

I was so surprised by Te'o picking Notre Dame... I mean he's a Mormon kid
going to a Catholic school, and he's still planning on serving a mission... I hope
he's got time to rethink the decision while on his mission, and transfer to BYU when he gets back

You are acting like these dudes have the grades to get in but just decide to not play D1 ball. I don't care if Vince Lombardi was the coach, not that manycats are gonna take a chance by going the prep route or greyshirt if they had a LEGIT chance at going some other D1 school and playing right away.

EDIT: Also, who do you guys have for the best player in the 2010 class? Have to go with Lache Seastrunk.

Massie already committed to us and already spent this past year at Hargrave, and STILL had trouble qualifying.

There are abt 4 players from the 2008 class on partial or greyshirt who had other offers and there grades were fine because they were enrolled in the fall, plus a RB that just enrolled who went prep whos grades were fine plus about another 3 who just enrolled for spring that had other offers out of HS, andobviously if they enrolled early their grades were also good. Point is yes there are some players who won't get in right away but the majority makes theirown decision to wait.

Edit: and Massie being such a high rated prospect who would'nt be willing to take a chance on him when he can come in and contribute from day 1???

I can tell you haven't spent time enougharound Houston Nutt to know what type of coach he is.

Dude is a straight up FRAUD. I'm glad I didn't go play for that bum and glad he got ran the hell outta Fayettevilletoo
laugh.gif

- don't develop QB's/WR's
- Special teams always suck under duke ..yea I know you got Coach Shibest (see Florida vs Arkansas 2007)
- tons of off the field

Yea I'm mad, I hope Coach Malzahn pays duke back quick
grin.gif

Nevertheless, I'm glad he's doing alright at Ole Miss because he was a good motivator
