That's why they got Massie.

I swear dude wasn't gonna even get into community college til Ole Miss took him.
Both of you are WRONG, the reason why we sign so many is because so many players want to play for Coach Nutt and they are willing to either spend a year at Hargrave or take a greyshirt. Yes there is maybe 2 players that will probably end up at JC but that won't be determined until close to summer so just incase a guy doesn't qualify we don't take a serious hit on the depth chart because we can bring a guy in that we were going to sign and place or greyshirt. You'd be suprised also of how many players decide to take a partial schol. for abt a year just to get into to the program also.

I can tell you haven't spent time enough around Houston Nutt to know what type of coach he is.

Dude is a straight up FRAUD. I'm glad I didn't go play for that bum and glad he got ran the hell outta Fayetteville too
laugh.gif

I barely followed him while he was at Ark. but being around him for a yr i can honestly say he delivers on everything he has said. He's a players coachand i haven't heard one complaint about him except from Ark. fans and that was the past.

I feel you fam. Hopefully getting run off made him change for the good.

Well the reason I'm salty is because he brought in my high school coach to run the Spread offense at Arkansas. We wasamped that we'd be running the same offense at Arkansas and he never let them do it, so that's where the whole situation with him going to Ole Misscame from. Recruited a lot of my boys to play in the offense that never came with a lot of broken promises. He always prepares good for the big games and hebrought in a lot of players this year at Ole Miss. Coach O did the same thing the past 2 years and we saw how that worked, but I'll be keeping trackthough

edit - From Arkansas and always wanted to play/run track there

Oh ok I had knew he brought that Springdale (sp) coach in but i didnt kno that started the fallout. I got here after coach O but i've heard plenty abt himand from what i've heard dude was cool off the field but a straight @*% on the field. They said he worked them to death with long and hard practices witha scrimmage like practice before the game
laugh.gif
, talkin bout bein worn outby gameday. Coach Nutt is chill on and off as long as you do what your suppose to do in class and practice. Plus he's mad funny, even let the freshmanimitate, well basically make fun of him and all the other coaches when we first got here, had the whole team rollin

That's some of the funniest !#+% I've read in a LONG time.

Anyone hearing anything about Nutt getting reported for violations in the recruitment of a certain Hargrave signee today? I heard this on another board tonightand was wondering if anyone else had heard it? I doubt anything significant comes of this though.

Regardless a class of 37 is a joke. That is 12 that will not be enrolling in the fall, depending on spring enrollees. That means the coaching staff knows that10 more than likely will not qualify, and that is not including guys that might be borderline. Sure there might be a couple of grey shirts dropping that numbercloser to 25. But I seriously doubt someone with a committable offer that can go in and play at another school right away would take a walk-on with a guaranteefor scholarship later (or partial). Ole Miss can get some kids in, that other schools can't, is why so many are signing up there.

Ask Coach Nutt about his textual relations with a news reporter

Coach O is the biggest fool ever. On everything saw dude show up to a visit drunk

37 is insane, he did the same thing at Arkansas and Boise State, but he knows some won't qualify immediately.

The thing is too, 12 or however many won't qualify and the ones that Ole Miss wants/signs next year will go back into and help inflate their"ranking" again.

He's not even the best player in Texas right now. I could see him ending up at the top, though.

If all goes as expected, Tennessee should get a post-signing day surprise on Thursday.

According to several people close to the situation, cornerback Janzen Jackson of Lake Charles, La., has backed off an earlier commitment to LSU and will instead sign with Tennessee. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Jackson is rated by Scouts Inc. as the No. 9 cornerback prospect in the country.

There was concern in and around the LSU camp on Wednesday when Jackson didn't follow through and sign with the Tigers. He wants his mother to be present, and she's coming in from California.

Jackson's father, Earl Guidry, just recently took a job on the Miami (Ohio) staff after a couple of previous stints on the McNeese State staff. He and Tennessee recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron go back a ways, and Orgeron's recruiting ties in the state of Louisiana are well documented.

Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin made a point of mentioning in his news conference on Wednesday evening that the Vols expected to get one more player.

Jackson is scheduled to sign and make his decision final at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Janzen would be a very nice pull.

As for the best 2010 guy, right now I'm going with Marcus Lattimore, RB out of SC, with Jake Heaps and Seantrell Henderson waaaay up there too.

I use Scout, but I'm more of a hoops guy and they seem to have Rivals beat in that area. I'm actually kind of mad at their Football coverage, as theyhave MSU's class at like 37th, where Rivals has it at like 17 and ESPN at like 22. I'll agree though, ESPN is trash.

Yea I was wondering what site everyone used. I looked at Foxsports today and they had an article about Ohio State having the number 1 recruiting class onScout. Then I shoot over to Rivals and over there we're number 3. So of course check out ESPN and we're 9. 9? How are we top 3 one the other two andthe 9 on ESPN?

I'm going with my boy Michael Dyer as top RB for 2010

hopefully Pete Caroll doesn't get him and he stays in Arkansas
IRISH AND TROJANS STILL BATTLING FOR ANOTHER RECRUIT
Posted by Keith Arnold on February 4, 2009, 7:07 p.m. EST

It seems that the fireworks today between USC and Notre Dame aren't quite over with.

Jawanza Starling, a four-star recruit, is listed by Rivals and Scout as committed to USC. Yet on the official press release from the University of Southern California, Starling is nowhere to be found.

Rumors began swirling that Starling was contemplating his decision when coach Charlie Weis was asked if there were any more recruits he was hoping to sign.

"There's potential. There's potential we could probably take another one. We could probably take another couple if we found them. There's potential for at least another one."

With a surplus of safeties committed to USC, and some persuasive last minute recruiting by Weis and his assistants, this could be another Irish thorn in the side of the Trojans.

Pahokee's Nu'Keese Richardson switches from Florida to Tennessee

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

PAHOKEE - An orange University of Florida hat lay discarded under Nu'Keese Richardson's chair on the auditorium stage at Pahokee, where seconds before he announced the stunning news.

Richardson was the last in a line of five Blue Devils ready to sign football scholarships. He paused when it was his turn, picked up the Florida hat, and the crowd started to applaud.

But then he let it fall, picking up the Tennessee hat and declaring that he was now a Volunteer as the crowd gasped.

Not even Pahokee coach Blaze Thompson knew this was coming.

Richardson, who played quarterback and receiver at Pahokee, had committed to Florida in May and showed no signs of changing his mind until a visit to Tennessee last weekend.

The Gators coaches had called to dissuade him from the visit the night before. And they were still calling up until two hours before the 1:30 p.m. signing ceremony.

But Tennessee's new coaching staff, led by Lane Kiffin, had already changed Richardson's mind with an assertive sell.

"I liked the (Florida) offense," said Richardson, the No. 9 receiver prospect ranked by Rivals.com. "But then again I went to Tennessee and saw another version of where I could fit in.

"The coaching staff really sold me. Coach Kiffin came from the Oakland Raiders and he coached at USC. My dream school was USC, and after that, I always wanted to be in that type of offense. I see myself working that offense. They came in with a new coaching staff and I fell in love with the coaching staff."

So, apparently, did his family.

Richardson's aunt, Terrilynn Jenkins, said his family was put off by all the pressure coming from UF. Besides discouraging him from going on visits to other schools and constantly calling, Jenkins said the family did not feel included while he was being recruited.

"We as a family never had a relationship with Florida," Jenkins said. "It was always Nu'Keese that had his own relationship with them and we were never really invited to be a part of the process.

"We wanted what was best for him, and ultimately it's his choice of where he wanted to go."

Tennessee, she said, advised him to keep his options open and make sure he made the right decision, whether it was with Tennessee or another school.

Kiffin said persistence paid off in landing Richardson.

"They (the coaching staff) set a standard for how hard we're going to work, that we're not worried about where a kid is committed or how far behind we are, and I think that showed in the final result," Kiffin said.

"For our guys to be able to go down to Pahokee, Florida, to get a kid that had not visited anywhere but Florida, was committed to Florida for a while, to do that and to do the work to get that finalized in the short time that we had ... was very exciting."

Richardson said that his verbal commitment to Florida before spring football was premature and that he should have taken his time to visit other schools.

"Honestly, in hindsight I wish he hadn't committed early," Thompson said.

"Players like him who have a lot of offers should be patient."

Even after his official visit to Florida, Richardson came back confident that he was going to Gainesville.

"He went to Tennessee last weekend and they stole him," Thompson said.

Richardson said he informed the Gators of his decision Wednesday morning.

"I mean, I have so much respect for Florida," he said. "It really hurts me to do that, but then again I got to do what's best for me and my family.
I'm still a bit shocked Pete isn't going to UF.

Synapsis on Breakfast for Alum and such today
Kiffin said that on Coach O's first day there he went up to the board and wrote "Marsalis Teague will be a Vol" and initialed it and threw the marker across the room. Kiffin said that Coach O would not take "no" as an answer from Teague. Coach O spent so much time there that he probably got to know every person in Paris, TN....

Another notable story was Coach O converting Marlon Walls to defensive line. He referenced Warren Sapp and how when he started playing football he was about 210 pounds. Coach O says that Marlon is now up to 275 from 215 pounds.
I cannot wait to see Walls line up in front of Gerald Williams in the middle of that Defense.

Is there anyway we can fast forward time to begin the new college football season.
