If they're such the all-world team everybody says they are, why don't they schedule some decent games?

Their OOC games this year are just pathetic.

Charleston Southern?
Florida International?

C'mon.

They always play a weak OOC schedule, w/ weaker teams (except for FSU
tongue.gif
). Oscar Meyer validates it by saying that the SEC conference schedule is tough enough. No need to play tough OOC games.

Sounds like the Longhorns picked up another commit from blue-chip QB Connor Wood... So who's going the way of Jevan Snead in the next couple of years?

That'll make 11 commits already...

They've supposedly got an offer going out to RB Traylon Shead in the next few days as well, and it'd be somewhat surprising if he didn't commit...Seems like they're planning to offer Shead as a RB, so I wonder what that means for Seastrunk... Wonder if they're getting the feeling he's goingelsewhere or if they just don't wanna play the waiting game...

I'm really surprised that Connor Wood didn't commit to OU...but then again, kids from Houston private schools generally never go to OU.

And I'm gonna be so pissed if Traylon Shead commits to Texas...mark that one down as yet another Aggie lean to commit to Texas if it happens...

Rumors out of Temple say Seastrunk is supposedly going to commit to USC in the relatively near future. Longhorn fans are saying Mack backed off due toSeastrunk being associated with a street agent.

My understanding is that he won't be up for Spring ball. I don't think we have any early enrolled commits this year (other than JCcommits).
Bellotti agrees with you about Cliff needing to put on some poundage. He'll bulk up there in the Cas Center with Radcliffe in his ear

when he gets to Eugene in the summer.

As stated above, we do play Florida State every year. Foley did everything he could to try and replace the Charles Southern game for a game against TCU orUtah. But they wanted at least a 2 for 1, and the Gators almost (never for as long as I remember) never leave the state for an OOC game. The SEC Eastis the toughest division in CF with UT, UGA, and SC ... but what puts us over the top is that our lock in every year game vs the SEC West is LSU - byfar, year in year out, the toughest team in the West. Bama might be coming on now. But for the past 8 years, and probably next year, its been all LSU.
We have tried to schedule some teams in the past few years that were considered "up and coming teams," but they haven't hold up their end of thebargain, as we beat down Hawaii, Southern Miss and Miami (can be debated whether it was a beat down), and they all went on to have subpar seasons.
That schedule is already murder as is and our strength of schedule is top 5 almost every year, even considering the fact that the Gators have 3 gimme Ws onthere.
All that being said, I can't remember the Gators having an easier schedule than what they have next year. Get UT, Arkansas and FSU at home, and we avoidBama and Ole Miss. The only "maybe" game I see is at LSU. Also, gotta play the SEC title game.

That's the problem. They don't leave the Swamp to play anybody outside of the SEC or the state of Florida.

Big Ten teams do it. Pac-10 teams do it. Big 12 teams do it. ACC teams do it. The rest of the SEC does it.
The argument about the tough in-conference schedule doesn't hold up either. Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, they schedule teams across the country. If Florida isso great, why don't they follow suit?
Totally, totally lame.

This isn't hate on the SEC. This is hate on the swagger of Florida that they can't seem to take outside the SEC or their home state.

That went right over your dumb !%! head. You couldn't even get into FSU, right? FSU would get BODIED in the SEC too, so quit that.

%%*+...I'd like for our damn basketball team to be in the SEC, we'd be favorites to win.

UF's been dodging Miami since the 80's. They sure as hell ain't playing anybody worthwhile OOC if they won't even play us.

I didn't even look @ the conference @%$# dude posted, so no it didn't.

And ftr, FSU isn't THAT hard to get into.

Where did I say that FSU wouldn't get smashed in the SEC?

Yeah, the staff told him he's their #1 guy so that's good enough for me. They told him they'd wait around to see what he does beforethey offer anyone else (hence no Gardiner offer), and he wants to make a decision before the season. Many are already saying he'll commit at the Springgame (or before).

I think Joyner heading to STA is good for Ohio State, as well.

I dont know man we are losing a lot seniors and big contributors. Most if not all of our starting DB's are leaving and some of our bigcontributors are leaving. Delmas and Jamarko Simmons. But we have had some decent success against the Big Ten in the last two years beating Iowa andIllinois.

BTW we play 3 Big Ten teams this year in Michigan, Indiana, and MSU so

Yeah, I don't see him as a 5* can't miss prospect or anything. I've heard comparisons of Colt McCoy in high school where if you gethim in the right system, he could thrive.

Miami set to pull out of Brown sweepstakes?
Miami set to pull out of Brown sweepstakes?
Bryce Brown's recruitment continues to take on almost-mythical proportions, as now comes word that one school may pull out of the sweepstakes.

Miami might not wait on Bryce Brown.
Brown, a running back from Wichita (Kan.) East who is the nation's No. 1 player, has maintained that he is a Miami commitment despite looking at other schools. He already has taken visits to Clemson, Oregon, Tennessee, Kansas State and Missouri, is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to LSU on Feb. 27 and was planning to take his final official visit to Miami on March 3. Brown then was to make public his decision March 12.
But news surfaced Tuesday that if Brown doesn't sign his national letter-of-intent with the Hurricanes today, Miami likely will cease its recruitment of him. The letter-of-intent Brown was offered by Miami expires at midnight Thursday, and a person involved in recruiting the running back says UM will not re-issue the scholarship offer.

"Everything that Coach [Randy] Shannon is doing here is about team," a high-ranking source in the athletic department told CaneSport.com, a Rivals.com Web site. "There is always going to be concern about a player or a prospective player who isolates himself as an individual.

"There is a strong chance that a new letter-of-intent will not be offered if he doesn't sign by Wednesday night."

Brian Butler, who is handling Brown's recruiting, told Rivals.com Wednesday that neither he nor anyone in Brown's family has spoken with Miami since the report surfaced. But Butler feels confident Miami remains a viable option.

"We talked to them right before this all broke," Butler said. "Bryce talked with Randy Shannon, and Coach Shannon talked to Mr. Brown as well. I guess there was some guy from The AP that talked to somebody from the school and the information was that they were considering dropping Bryce.

I trust Coach [Randy] Shannon and his word more than an AP reporter. Mr. Brown and Bryce talked to Coach Shannon on Monday and he knows what the situation is, and we've not heard anything to change our status with them.

"Whether that is true or not, I don't know. Bryce and Mr. Brown talked to the head coach. I trust Coach Shannon and his word more than an AP reporter. Mr. Brown and Bryce talked to Coach Shannon on Monday and he knows what the situation is, and we've not heard anything to change our status with them."
The letter-of-intent drama was just part of the buzz about Brown on Tuesday. The story took another twist when Brown announced on Butler's Web site that his final two visits would be to LSU on Feb. 27 and to Miami on March 3. Brown, who uses the Web site as his preferred way of making recruiting-related announcements, also talked about his official visit to Tennessee.

"At LSU, I want to see the offensive game plan, meet the people and get a feel for the city of Baton Rouge," Brown said in the statement. "[Miami will be] in spring ball, so I want to see how the coaches interact with the players at practice and look at how the new offense is coming along.

"The players and the coaches at Tennessee are fired up down there. I could tell that they are working hard to battle for the SEC title. We talked about how they are going to block different run plays. We also talked about the impact that Coach [Lane] Kiffin had with the Oakland Raiders over the past couple of years, as well as his NFL experience with the St. Louis Rams."

Brown said Kiffin, the Vols' new coach, did his best to sway him to sign with Tennessee.

"You can feel the passion that he has to make UT champions again," Brown said. "He already has proven that he is one of the best offensive minds in football. Coach Kiffin made a big impression on me."

Good, !*@+ this kid and his drama it's not like we don't have good running backs already and I've said it all along I think he's overrated,Gunna and FRESH you can have this prima donna and his mentor.

Ill take him. I'm not gonna front. Dude is nasty.

I prefer Oku because he's just a sick athlete but if we pulled Brown I'd crack a smile like Shanice
